More than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most best friends remain friends until death. 8:30 probably the BB/Raven moment with the most weight to me. BB knew that Raven was falling for Malchior and that his betrayal must've been a huge blow to her, so he knew Raven needed compassion and not his usual humorous antics. Also really like how he tells her that despite her creepy introverted character, that doesn't mean she has to isolate herself from everyone, and that they are there for her. Don't shut friends and family out, let them help and be there for you.
DC really gave us such an iconic ship only to retcon their romance. I hope the comics start giving us more Raven x Beast Boy again. They were always the most entertaining ship for these characters imo

DC isn't the only company that's done this, Marvel is just as guilty. Sending relations like Peter & MJ to the shadow realm. Hell, it's not just romances that get retcon, straight up entire character developments have been retcon just to maintain the status quo. Bruce Banner is no longer an angry man and wants to move on from being the hulk? Nah retcon it. Damian Wayne respects his father and is trying his absolute best to move on from being an assassin, so that one day he can honor him by being the next Batman? ain't status quo, retcon it. Peter Paker is actually happy with his life? RETCON! There are so many other examples of this but yeah. DC, and Marvel, are willing to just destroy, forget, or straight up retcon anything just to maintain the status quo, because the status quo must be maintain at all costs, even if an orphanage has to be burned with all the kids in it. My favourite bbrae moment is when Beast Boy is making breakfast and Starfire said that on her planet, Beast Boy making a breakfast like that would mean he was getting engaged. She asks who he was getting engaged to. BB is taken aback by the question and then the next thing that happens is that Raven comes in and BB offers her his breakfast. I think that's the clearest example that there was some sort of hint of a relationship the writers had for them, but they never got to finish their story. Edit: In fact, looking back at the episode it looks like it was all very clever foreshadowing for them to end up together. Since the next thing BB does after Starfire says that breakfast would mark the arrangement of a marriage, BB offers his breakfast to Raven, but Raven angrily rejects him. But by the end of the episode, when it is suggested that they should get breakfast, BB says that it might be a little late and suggests that they should just get some herbal tea, in reference to Raven just wanting herbal tea earlier. But Raven says that breakfast actually sounds nice and blushes at Beast Boy. If we use breakfast as an analogy to engagement, it might be seen as BB asking to be engaged with Raven, which she angrily rejects, but then she later accepts it. If this was the intention, it would be some next level cleaver writing.

Nah. Bad chemistry. They have too little in common. What BB finds fun, Raven finds annoying. And what Raven finds interesting, BB finds boring. Not a good match at all.
@@verryoniameh5353 sure I have. But I've seen those relationships fail more often than not. Opposites attract to a degree, but it makes things impossible when the two parties can't agree on anything and then argue constantly. Another point is that things that may be a minor annoyance between two friends (Ex: BB's annoying jokes and Raven's reclusiveness) become huge problems once sex enters the equation. The chemistry between the characters is just off and unnatural. I'm sure they would have a lot of love for each other, but once the puppy love phase ends, it would be non stop arguments and silent treatments. Ending in catastrophe and possibly destroying a perfecty good friendship.
I know he was a dangerous were-beast for a short while, but the episode "The Beast Within" just made me ship them harder than before. It's like his animal instincts screamed PROTECT RAVEN even in his monster form. It's strangely beautiful. I've been wanting to write a story with the "Man-Beast" in a more prominent role.
yee and i definitely think it's also cuz it might be implied that his Werebeast form (Beast Boy's most primal and darkest of all his animal forms so far in this series) considers Raven to be his 'mate'. hence why he gently put her down before going off to try to fight Starfire, Cyborg, and Robin off in the sewers. and then BB sniffing Rae (once he transformed back into his Werebeast form from all that emotional overload of anger, guilt, and fear) in the medical bay to make sure she's ok before taking off to find Adonis and take him down. plus when BB again transformed into his Werebeast form again later on during Season 4 (Raven's arc) to try to protect Rae from Hellspawn Slade and the Hellfire demons that were tryna take Raven to Trigon. Beast Boy only seems to unleash his Werebeast form and go all out when it involves Raven's life being in grave danger... coincidence? i think NOT!!! 💜💚💜💚💜💚
Raven just has to be extra careful about how she expresses her feelings, because her powers are tied to them. I couldn't imagine having to constantly keep my feelings in check. And I mean down to the smallest sliver of emotion. Some people can, but Raven is a very emotional being, she has love and friends supporting her. Having unpredictable destructive powers can be super stressful, especially when all you want to do is have fun with the people you love. She just can't feel like others do.
You are aware that her mirror was a portal into her mind and her emotions are represented by different clones of her. It's not multi-personality disorder as much as it's her demonic magic making her emotions sentient to help her understand herself.

Yeah, they couldn't show that in this show as it was targeted towards young teens, so they had Beast Boy be unnecessarily forgiving to the point of nearly ruining his character, however he does inevitably move on by the finale as he leaves the revived Terra for his team. It's funny how people shipped Beast Boy with Terra, but actively ignore the fact she clearly was a spy after Titan Rising and used him for info on the others, hence how she knew all their weaknesses. The fangirls just choose to ignore that whole plotline and remove the toxicity in the relationship, in order to keep the fake positive element. I mean even Terra's creator hated her and admitted that Terra was made to be a mentally unstable psycho who sleeps with men like Slade/Deathstroke, that taught Beast Boy a lesson of not to trust someone you barely know, not to be an actual love interest, yet people still chose to try to ship them regardless.

I know that Starfire and Robin are obviously end game, but this show actually made me ship Raven and Robin just a little, though raven and beastboy are obviously better. I was really excited when Robin and her were together in the animated dc movies, especially with the way the characters were written. The dynamic was nice.
The funny thing Is in ravens mind her joy persona told bb she always thought he was funny. However raven needs total control over her emotions or her powers just run rampant. This is shown when starfire is in her body and causing various things to break unintentionally with her lack of composure. So raven has been holding back a lot of laughs around beast boy not only to not make chaos but to discourage him from continuing to try to make her laugh which ironically doesn’t work.

@@verryoniameh5353 sure I have. But I've seen those relationships fail more often than not. Opposites attract to a degree, but it makes things impossible when the two parties can't agree on anything and then argue constantly.
Another point is that things that may be a minor annoyance between two friends (Ex: BB's annoying jokes and Raven's reclusiveness) become huge problems once sex enters the equation. The chemistry between the characters is just off and unnatural. I'm sure they would have a lot of love for each other, but once the puppy love phase ends, it would be non stop arguments and silent treatments. Ending in catastrophe and possibly destroying a perfecty good friendship.

I know he was a dangerous were-beast for a short while, but the episode "The Beast Within" just made me ship them harder than before. It's like his animal instincts screamed PROTECT RAVEN even in his monster form. It's strangely beautiful. I've been wanting to write a story with the "Man-Beast" in a more prominent role.
yee and i definitely think it's also cuz it might be implied that his Werebeast form (Beast Boy's most primal and darkest of all his animal forms so far in this series) considers Raven to be his 'mate'. hence why he gently put her down before going off to try to fight Starfire, Cyborg, and Robin off in the sewers. and then BB sniffing Rae (once he transformed back into his Werebeast form from all that emotional overload of anger, guilt, and fear) in the medical bay to make sure she's ok before taking off to find Adonis and take him down. plus when BB again transformed into his Werebeast form again later on during Season 4 (Raven's arc) to try to protect Rae from Hellspawn Slade and the Hellfire demons that were tryna take Raven to Trigon. Beast Boy only seems to unleash his Werebeast form and go all out when it involves Raven's life being in grave danger... coincidence? i think NOT!!! 💜💚💜💚💜💚

Raven just has to be extra careful about how she expresses her feelings, because her powers are tied to them. I couldn't imagine having to constantly keep my feelings in check. And I mean down to the smallest sliver of emotion.
Some people can, but Raven is a very emotional being, she has love and friends supporting her.
Having unpredictable destructive powers can be super stressful, especially when all you want to do is have fun with the people you love.

Yeah, they couldn't show that in this show as it was targeted towards young teens, so they had Beast Boy be unnecessarily forgiving to the point of nearly ruining his character, however he does inevitably move on by the finale as he leaves the revived Terra for his team. It's funny how people shipped Beast Boy with Terra, but actively ignore the fact she clearly was a spy after Titan Rising and used him for info on the others, hence how she knew all their weaknesses. The fangirls just choose to ignore that whole plotline and remove the toxicity in the relationship, in order to keep the fake positive element. I mean even Terra's creator hated her and admitted that Terra was made to be a mentally unstable psycho who sleeps with men like Slade/Deathstroke, that taught Beast Boy a lesson of not to trust someone you barely know, not to be an actual love interest, yet people still chose to try to ship them regardless.

The funny thing Is in ravens mind her joy persona told bb she always thought he was funny.
However raven needs total control over her emotions or her powers just run rampant.
This is shown when starfire is in her body and causing various things to break unintentionally with her lack of composure.
So raven has been holding back a lot of laughs around beast boy not only to not make chaos but to discourage him from continuing to try to make her laugh which ironically doesn’t work.
