Ninh explains, the Rules of Racquetball. Sometimes called 'American Racquetball' to differentiate it from British Racketball - this is played predominantly in North America. Learn all about this cool sport here.
For years, I obviously had NO idea what my mother used to play when I'd sit in my stroller, back around 1986 or so. When I got older, I still didn't know. Around 15 years ago or so, I finally figured out what my late mother used to play. I'm certain it was racquetball- She would have a tennis racquet and hit a ball as hard as she could, for loads of time against a concrete target of a bulls' eye. That's gotta be racquetball. RIP.
I was trying to make a sport (similar to baseball, but with a racquet) and I wanted to call it racquetball, little to my knowledge, it existed. So I was curious about it, this was really helpful
Awesome video as always. This video has cleared everything up as now I know and see the differences between Requetball and Squash. This sport doesn't look so wierd anymore! :)
I think Racquetball's rules (no lines on the walls) and the different equipment makes this a completely different game to Squash. Rallies can be extremely short in this game.
Great to see you back making videos again. Even better you are also doing self help videos too. You are covering 2 things I enjoy watching. Love your work :)
Great video! Keep up the good work Ninh. I know you already made a video on cricket, but I was wondering if you ever considered doing a more in depth recording that explains the differences between the three forms of the sport (T20, one-day, and first class). Cheers!
Hi Renata. The differences are relatively self-explanatory and I don't think it warrants making a separate video about it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Thank you Vivek! I already have a Rules of Baseball video on my channel, that is a similar sport. I do have a Softball video coming up, but there's a lot of other sports to be made first before that one comes out. Thanks again.
Oh her? That's Paola Longoria of Mexico - the undisputed queen of racquetball. She's won everything and it doesn't hurt that she's very pretty! She's also the girl on the thumbnail of the video.
Sorry dude, because each motor racing league seemingly changes its rules every year - it's hard to make a video without it being obsolete by the next season. Especially F1!
Should also be pointed out that there is an outdoor version of Racquetball. The rules are a little different but the general idea is the same, but th biggest difference is that you only have the front and side walls, no back wall and obviously no ceiling. Oh, and dimensions of the walls can vary from court to court.
I actually prefer this sport to Tennis. I mean, imagine how fast your reflexes and how large your stamina must be to keep up with a ball which takes extremely fast bounces! It still 🤯amazes🤯 me to this day!
Outdoor racquetball is just as tough. You only have the front and side walls. No back wall and obviously no ceiling, so your shot selection has to be on point as well. Oh, and the wall dimensions can vary from court to court as well.
HELP, situation: first serve is a short serve; second serve is good and goes into play. At some point, a hinder is called during rally ending play and a re-due is agreed on. Does first service fault continue to count and another short serve results in a side out? Or is the rally started over with new service count??. answer to this issue is not readily available in my search of rules
unfortunately due to lack of courts this game is nearly impossible to play in England or the rest of the uk but is very popular in Ireland as the courts are the same as handball, the gaelic sport. the only places in the uk to play are on us airbases. imo in it a much better game than the british version which is called racketball as opposed to racquetball. in racquetball the ball is played off the ceiling too but in racketball this is impossible as its played on a squash court.
Anyone having trouble getting racquetball racquets strung in north east NJ area? I recently restrung some racquetball racquets for the first time in 15 years of stringing and I know why so many tennis shops will not do it. In tennis almost every racquet is the same or close to. You do not need to be staring at the USRSA notes while doing tennis racquets. So you do not need to keep paying USRSA 130 dollars a year to get the digest with the notes. With racquetball stringing you are following detailed notes, and makes no sense compared to tennis. Plus tennis shops will use basic tennis strings. So if anyone needs a string job and lives close, let me know.
No its just that I used to always watch your videos and you took a break in 2016 and this is the first video ive seen from you in a while but I see that you have been making more since may thanks for coming back!
For whom exactly? It's only played in the Highlands of Scotland and not played professionally. If I get a demand for it maybe, but I'm sure you already know the rules.
You'd think so but no. Because Racquetball has no lines that dictate areas of the wall you can't play - the bigger head and bouncier ball means that the strategy is totally different to that of Squash.
No man, it's really dang fun. I just got started and it is super fast paced with a lot to pay attention to. Much more than meets the eye. This video only talked about the basic rules, not the gameplay.

I'm glad we didn't have to wait too much time to know the difference between this and squash :)
Yep, these two videos didn't take that long to make as I knew the rules already and there's not much to it. Cheers :)

For some reason nobody has seen this comment, but I have the best wishes, keep going strong
I was trying to make a sport (similar to baseball, but with a racquet) and I wanted to call it racquetball, little to my knowledge, it existed. So I was curious about it, this was really helpful
Thanks dude. Sorry you can't name your sport Racquetball!
Ninh Ly yeah lol
Could call it racquetbase 😀
Awesome video as always. This video has cleared everything up as now I know and see the differences between Racquetball and Squash.
Thanks, glad you like my video!
Check out my channel for more :)
Nice video keep it up every time I watch your videos i learn something new
Thanks man, I'll keep trying!
Clear, concise, efficient video.
Thanks man!

Ninh Ly Yes before this video I thought it was just a dumb version of Squash but it is actually much cooler now that I know the rules!
Great to see you back making videos again. Even better you are also doing self help videos too. You are covering 2 things I enjoy watching. Love your work :)
Thanks Chandy, I appreciate the kind comments! Stay tuned for more stuff like this. Got some humdingers coming up!
Thank you so much Ninh.
Any time bro!
back wall is 20 feet high and i like using all of it. Some places dont allow the use of the full 20 feet. Thank you for the video
Loved this video!
Great video! Keep up the good work Ninh.

Hi Renata. The differences are relatively self-explanatory and I don't think it warrants making a separate video about it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I love these things! Thank you!
thanks for the double sports vid this week
Cool, thanks! Squash and Racquetball are similar and there's not much to both sports, so it was easy to do them both at the same time.
Thanks! Clear and concise!
great explanations, I am looking for you to please explains a "Rules of Softball".
Thank you Vivek! I already have a Rules of Baseball video on my channel, that is a similar sport.
I do have a Softball video coming up, but there's a lot of other sports to be made first before that one comes out.
Thanks again.
Good job on yet another video Ninh Ly. Would you be able to do one for the unified rules of mma?
MMA is already on the list ... just don't have time to make it as of yet.
That girl in orange though.
Oh her? That's Paola Longoria of Mexico - the undisputed queen of racquetball.
She's won everything and it doesn't hurt that she's very pretty!
She's also the girl on the thumbnail of the video.
Ninh Ly Need I also mention Rocky Carson? The undisputed KING of Racquetball.
She looks even better in person and super nice
Do American Handball next!!
If I get enough demand, yeah.
But I don't see it.
Great video! Thank you!
please do for F1, NASCAR and Indy 500
Sorry dude, because each motor racing league seemingly changes its rules every year - it's hard to make a video without it being obsolete by the next season. Especially F1!
Well explained. Thank you
It's very similar to Gaelic handball and American handball: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_handball
Yes, very much so.
Great video!
Should also be pointed out that there is an outdoor version of Racquetball.
The rules are a little different but the general idea is the same, but th biggest difference is that you only have the front and side walls, no back wall and obviously no ceiling. Oh, and dimensions of the walls can vary from court to court.
Is there a 'mercy rule' in racquetball?
Like to see Ninh explanes Padel (aka paddle tennis)
I'll consider it.
well explained

Nice

Deporte orgullosamente mexicano 🇲🇽
Yes.
What happens if you serve and hit the Celing but the ball bounces after the serving line?
You'd have to be fairly silly to do that. It doesn't count.
Lemme guess...the comment section asking for the diffrence did it?
Nope, not yet. I'm sure someone will but I think the differences are fairly obvious if they watch them both.
So a more advanced version of wall ball
It's a basic version of every wall or racket sport if you think about it.
👍🏽
Well I am actually early this time!
Yeah, I guess so!
A few shots here looked like smashing them in the face
Yes, it can be quite a nasty sport if it goes wrong. But these guys are pros, injuries like that rarely happen.
Ninh Ly can you call a stroke on opponent?
Yes, I believe they call it a 'penalty hinder'.

Do judo
It's on the list, though I've not got round to making it.
sweet!
Do the rules of mma
You really have to knock off the constant requests ... dude, I'm not a machine.
OMG WHERE WERE YOU!?!?!
Me personally or this video?
No its just that I used to always watch your videos and you took a break in 2016 and this is the first video ive seen from you in a while but I see that you have been making more since may thanks for coming back!
Ah cheers! It's nice to be appreciated. Yes, I'm back for the immediate future, cranking out self-help and sports videos. Stay tuned for more!
Gaelic hand ball with racquet
Nope.
yeh
✊
Do the rules of shinty
For whom exactly? It's only played in the Highlands of Scotland and not played professionally.
If I get a demand for it maybe, but I'm sure you already know the rules.
So basically just squash but squash.
You'd think so but no. Because Racquetball has no lines that dictate areas of the wall you can't play - the bigger head and bouncier ball means that the strategy is totally different to that of Squash.
Why is it so expensive 😭
Is there a dudes face in the window on the wall? Lol
Peepeepoopoo
First yay hi
Yep.
Not to sound mean, but this is one of the dumbest sports I can think of.
There are worse sports out there, trust me.
Korfball
Thatguy Man Yee
No man, it's really dang fun. I just got started and it is super fast paced with a lot to pay attention to. Much more than meets the eye. This video only talked about the basic rules, not the gameplay.
Chris take the tampon out
Great video!
