1. *Introduction of Specialists and Project Background (00:05-01:17):*
A boat is launched, introducing Jamie, Mitchell, and Brian.
Experts from Foster Lake and Edges Pond Management are on-site to assess a new hybrid bass strain introduced to the pond.
This strain was developed by Edges Pond Management in Georgia.
2. *Fish Assessment and Equipment Overview (01:17-02:20):*
The team uses an environmentally friendly electric trolling motor for sampling.
Bass sizes and growth data are recorded to evaluate the success of the new strain.
3. *Stocking History and Observations (05:12-07:33):*
Initial stocking included large quantities of shiners and other forage fish before bass introduction.
The lack of structure in the pond is discussed as a potential issue, leading to the fish spreading out.
4. *Unwanted Species and Habitat Suggestions (10:06-11:51):*
Unwanted green sunfish species are identified and plans to remove them are made.
Suggestions for adding habitat structures like trees and reefs are discussed to centralize fish populations.
5. *Bass Growth and Shock Sampling Strategy (12:41-13:49):*
Bass are showing healthy growth with good body composition.
Guidelines for timing future pond shocks are provided, typically one to two years after stocking.
6. *Pond Management Insights (20:04-24:16):*
Proper feeding practices and the use of high-protein bait are emphasized for optimal fish growth.
The need for balancing energy input and output for fish health is highlighted.
7. *Role of Habitat Structures (26:45-28:49):*
"Ugly trees" and other artificial habitats are recommended for their ability to foster food sources and protect fish.
Strategies for shoreline and subsurface structure placements are outlined.
8. *Hybrid Bass Development (29:52-31:31):*
The hybrid bass, a cross between northern and Florida strains, is explained.
The team shares optimism about the bass's potential for larger size and faster growth.
9. *Water Quality and Settling Solutions (32:39-33:47):*
Water clarity challenges are addressed with suggestions like allowing natural settling or using buffer alum.
Tips for maintaining intake systems for geothermal or other water systems are shared.
10. *Industry Collaboration and Challenges (35:53-End):*
The cooperative nature of the pond and hatchery management industry is highlighted.
A shared goal of improving fish quality and management practices is evident throughout.

For a young pond with so much sediment and minerals in the water feeding the pond. You are doing well, Geoff. The fish look healthy and are spawning. I don't know what you can do about the water quality coming in the pond. But you are definitely doing your best to make it a good habitat for your fish and family.
Very interesting video.
Lots to learn. Thanks for sharing with us. Pond is looking good. Slow and steady and it will be a well stocked pond that will maintain itself. Cheers
Awesome video and looking forward to the next one!
The pond is still new and needs to mature but you’re still at the mercy of everything that drains into it. Hopefully it’ll get dialed in when the construction is done in a few years (not just your house, but everything else in proximity). Everything you do now will pay dividends in the future. You’re going to have ups and downs but don’t get discouraged and don’t let it break the bank! You’ve got a beautiful spot there Geoff. Keep up the good work!
@@jramsdenbb thank you
All made for good viewing bro. Safe travels y'all. Ken.
I think the lake looks great. Thanks for the ride along my friend.
This channel is always got something different going on. You never know when you turn on Bailey good Farms always enjoy your videos man. Can’t wait to see somebody fishing and hang with them. Big wall hangers stay safe God bless. Keep them coming.
@@tonycole613 appreciate that.
Nice video Mr Bealy Good.
Quite the Impressive View of the castle from the water at 6:25
Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to the Bealy Good Fam! There is a lot to this pond eco system.
Very interesting and educational. Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving.
Really interesting and informative to hear what these guys have to say. They have a good attitude with sharing some of the industry tips and tricks. Good people. Too bad it rained while they were there. Happy Thanksgiving!
You should add a few paddlefish like 4 or 5 they get huge they are filter feeders won't kill your other fish
Amazing to see how far the pond has come since Chris cleared the first trees.
I'm looking to get some cameras and would like to know if you are still happy with them and maybe use your affiliate link
I am still happy with the reolinks. I have a bunch of them all up and still working. The only issues I had is the first GEN had some problems with the solar panels, but that seems to be fixed.
Geoff you also want to in the little settling pond you might want to plant of the dastardly cat tails to help filter the water coming into the big pond. Or plant some other type of aquatic grasses.
I'm guessing Geoff doesn't eat a lot of Doritos when he's on the treadmill.

🚫 Zonts and Zuckle free zone! Thanks Mr. B👍
I've bought a lot of the artificial habitat from Pond King. It is easy to put in and works pretty good.
So interesting to see fish management in action in a "baby" lake-how it should be done- I've learned a lot! Also....I need to go do some electro-fishing 😂- I'd actually catch something lol
Geoff, tell Chris you want some big oak stumps from his clearing jobs. To stop burning the hollow logs, because you want them for the pond.
When you ask him for the stumps and hollow logs, do it on camera so we can see him roll his eyes!😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Hi BealyGood
I’m sure Chris could find you some fish habitat …..
I'm sure :)
Good morning day, after Thanksgiving, have a good one.
You too!
Edge’s manage our pond They are from Soperton GA
great information Geoff, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
Noisy generator would scare even a shark away. Looks like the generator in a garage that could power the house. Now they done playing on they dingy, you ready to do some fishing? I love our 18 inch Trout out here in the west.
@@JD-zm4eh I need to take a break and do some fishing
@@BealyGood Idaho tributary streams and creeks that run into the Snake river used to be loaded with wonderful trout. We went to a creek about 50 miles north of Boise years ago and caught over 40 fish in less than 6 hours walking down the creek, even stopped and fried a few up on a rocky shore. Best fishing I ever done.
What I don't understand is, if it's okay to do this to fish with that electrical shock treatment, why is it illegal for me to do this to my neighbor's cats ???
🤣🤣🤣

How about my neighbors?

In college I raised ich in one lab and exposed fingerling catfish to it in another lab as a work study…
Does that affect turtles?
Great question. I’ve never seen any pop up. I’ll ask at the next one.
I would think it doesn't since they do it all of the time, but if it did stun them, they might drown.
Review BamaBass, he has nailed the pond stocking, these guys were just throwing advice out to see what sticks!
@@gerrycarter4929 I watch Bama bass. Good channel, but I don’t have his money.
Things are getting fishy at Bealy Good farm.
Interesting, Bamabass seems to have his process down. Not everyone has the funds to do what he is doing.
Yeah, that’s a passion for him plus the channel makes probably 10 times the money he spends and since all the footage comes from his pond videos, that’s just the cost of doing business
Something fishy about those people 😂
🙂
😮 their you go again Geoff. Thinking about Chris's hi-protein cows. 😂😂😂😂

lol, we need a fish that comes when called and jumps in the boat. Now if he can breed that fish, we talking about something. Lol.They walked up to the other lake, lol. How do they even see the fish? What are those things.
Asian carp. Take as many as you want.
Ya burned up your structure.
I stopped watching after that person kept spitting . Will not watch any with him in it .
☹️
I knew those air-raiders, were doing nothing but keeping the water very dirty. They should be giving you a discount/Refund some of your money. The water is still cloudy, as it was when it was finished.
The video is very dark
