Fun fact: in the live action Netflix series the guy who plays the cabbage merchant in THAT show is the EXACT same person who voiced the cabbage merchant in the animated show.
Cabbage is 92% water. Basically an enclosed capsule of water. Like a balloon. If you vibrate them in the same way Toph did to see, theoretically if scattered around which constantly happens like by his cart being destroyed, you could map out large areas in great detail.
18:10 cabbage bending is actually 100% possible due to the sole fact that there is a confirmed bender in the avatar universe that can bend food specifically cookie dough in the official comics from Avatar.
Here's the thing, cabbages are 92% water, and The Southern Water Tribe Got Raided by the Fire Nation.. Meaning that The Cabbage Merchant.. Could actually be a Water Bender, considering he could be using the Cabbages to spy, and considering that Swamp bending can allow people to see through Plants... Swamps have Water. And Cabbages Are Plants...
The Dai Li was just a coup. yeah. they decided Azula's bad-girl rizz was better than their combined respect for their own ancestors. crazy shit considering how bad she is at flirting.
The Dai Li honestly just revised to think for themselves. They considered themselves weapons, and decided that between azula and the earth kingdom traitor, they'd follow whoever came out on top of a fight
Fun fact: The Dai Li agent who gets captured by the avatar crew says "Azula and Long Feng are planning a coup" and the way he says it, it sounds like "Aku" and the guy who voices that line is Samurai Jack's VA
Bending is more than just the single element, looking at Earthbending which has the most number of bending subsets, it is fully possible for the ability to sense other things through vegetation. Psychic bending is also a thing, like Ming-Hua who is a waterbender with no arms in the red lotus, so she learned to used her mind to bend the water, combustion bending is also a form of psychic bending that combines air and firebending the way it is done. Air Nomads could sense the world around them using the very element they could bend. This theory holds a lot of water
Ming-Hua does use her hips a lot in bending too, but just the fact that she learned to do that still requires extreme mental effort. Or combustion-bending. That's just psychically compressing your passion and energy into your forehead and releasing it in a beam of pure annihilation (because, I'm sure NOTHING could tank a direct combustion to the body).
Theres a book that goes into combustion bending, the basic run down is fire benders were forced to go into deep depths of water (tied up I think) and bend fire. They used extreme measures for these benders to be able to do that, thats why we see them take huge deep breaths when combustion bending. Many of these fire benders died during this process.
Dude that’s crazy how sick of a plot that is. Just reading a couple sentence run down invokes so much shock, disbelief, intrigue, anger and sadness for people that aren’t real. If Hollywood or Marvel could do something like this it would completely redeem them and make them so much more money.
Ima be honest, he damn near might be growing those cabbage's in the swamp. Long enough distance between where he grows them and the earth kingdom for them do go bad? Sounds like quite the journey
And as someone already pointed out, the Cabbage vendor looks like the Swamp inhabitants, his skin colour and his hairstyle has only ever been seen from that side of the Earth Kingdom. It makes sense too, since his cabbage business (as far as I remember) is only within the Earth Kingdom. He grows his cabbages in the Swamp where they are all connected, he harvests them and maybe because of the way cabbage is made up (with how much water content it retains), his doesn’t lose his connection with them as long as they are bunched up together within proximity to each other. Like, in every town leading up to the bigger cities, he maybe plants a few cabbages here and there or just stores them. So they maintain that link to the Swamp which he can then tap into with his water or Earth bending to see around the World. That, or he tamed a spirit that loves cabbages which could also make sense if he’s from the Swamp since those guys are attuned spiritually. If he has tamed cabbage loving spirits, then he could potentially have a network of cabbage spirits hanging out around where cabbages are (which is basically the entire world), and then they relay whatever new information they learn back to the main spirit which in turn tells the cabbage merchant about it. I don’t doubt that he knows more than he lets on, and the Red Lotus stuff works well too.
The fire nation soldiers in the occupied city of Omashu were scared of Sokka having Pentapox despite it being made up by the gang. If the city fell due to diseased cabbages weakening the defenses it would make sense why the fire nation soldiers are on edge towards people who are sick.
In the old avatar comics which are can, we meet a person who could do Shadow bending. So cabbage bending, blood bending, Combustion bending, metal bending, were consider unique or forgotten or unknown..
Well, I mean in the comics (which is canon) there was a chapter i think called 'new recruits' and that chapter showed 4 people with unique bending abilities. I only remember two and one of those two was a young child who was able to bend cookies and one was able bend shadows soooo......Cabbage bending isn't too far fetched, and as Alex theorizes it could be a form of waterbending because you know Cabbage has a lot water in it, 92-96% percentage I believe
I love the theory, but I have to break 1 of the points he made. That being about Omashu and how it got conquered. This wasn't necesserarily because of cabbage slugs, but they did collect the airship parts earlier and may have had copies of blueprints to make more to attack Omashu from the air. And earthbenders are not particularly equiped to deal with long range and, more importantly, airborn targets.
The swampbenders bended plants via water bending so why not via earth bending, the material of plants is literally built of earthly nutrients the same way lava bending is low key fire-water bending and cloud/steam bending is air + water PS. Maybe combustion man is air/fire, exploding oxygen molecules in the air
18:00 on the dot I had a revelation. Can we all remember the time where there were swamp benders? Remember they can become one with their environment and seamlessly go into the swamp the marshland they could go ahead and control it naturally without any effort 😮😮😮
27:48 the red lotus water bender does just bend regular water but what makes her a unique or specialized bender is the fact that she doesn’t have arms so she just does it with her mind
Jackie produced the show & portrayed, well, himself in the live action segments, but oddly enough, he doesn't voice his animated self, that's James Sie
whats crazy to me is how the next avatar is said to be set in a cyberpunk setting, and cabbage corp being the overarching villain just seems to fit that so well.
Cabbage Merchant is voiced by James Sie who also voices Jackie, Shendu, & Chow (Jackie Chan Adventures), Monkey, Viper’s dad, WuKong, & others (Kung Fu Panda series), Wind Dragon & General Kwan (Justice League), Kwan (Danny Phantom), Atom & Dyna-Mite (Batman the Brave & the Bold), Confucius (Time Squad), You Lee & others (Jimmy Neutron), Shoji (The Secret Saturdays), Louie (What’s New Scooby Doo), Penba (Chill Out, Scooby Doo!), & many more
I said it in simba's video. I don't think he is BENDING cabbages but that he has met a spirit in the giant swamp as it is connected to the spirit world and bribed it to spy on the avatar THROUGH cabbages. That explains why we don't hear from him, he was problably too busy bribing the spirit with food to show up.
Swamps have water, Cabbages have 92% of Water, Swamp Bending allows people to see through plants, Cabbages Are plants, The Fire Nation Raided The Southern Water Tribe.
Combustion it's like Bakugo from MHA, but instead of releasing explosions from his palms, it launches a beam of flammable gas or vapor that generates a spark upon impact and everything explodes.
If I recall correctly the bloodbending episode was aired as a sort of "halloween episode" so it makes sense it would have a few creepy elements in it like the face on the cabbage; you would be going into the episode expecting things to be off.
Cabbage bending is possible coz Tenzens daughter can literally separate her spiritual body to search for ppl she knows( recognizes their energy), whether it's on earth or the spirit realm. A high connection with an object and a high aptitude of spiritual connection could translate to having a spiritual connection with sed object
I feel like alex could of had more weight to the theory if he mentioned guru patik sensing where aang is from appa when he was talking about everything being connected, which would show that the connection doesn't have to be physical and can be more spiritual through love like aang and appa have for each other, so if the cabbage merchant loves his cabbages like how aan and appa do each other than it would make it more plausible
I mean why is he only selling cabbages everywhere he’s goes it would of been less suspicious if he was a normal food merchant instead he only always sells one item all the time that nobody buys
Water lady wasnt really special type of bender but her uniqness lied in fact that she didnt have arms. And she used water like extension to her body. Her way of using water bending was something unreachable for most people. For example she used move where she bended ice at the end of water whips. Oh i know. Her water bending was like equiwalent of Tophs earth bending. Her impairment make her stronger.
Bro I hate to think the cabbage man might be a spy but I don’t think he’s wrong also I gotta agree with Aaron about korra terrible avatar great villains
Cabbage bending doesn't sound as stupid if you remember that each element has sub-disciplines (bloodbending, metalbending, lightning, ). So who's to say that earthbending couldn't evolve into plant/nature bending? Poison Ivy style, complete with sentient plants listening in and snitching. Would also explain how the guy keeps easily getting a ton of produce and a brand new wooden cart each time. That stuff ain't cheap you know and there's no way a random retail veggie merchant has the type of funds needed to restart a business after getting everything he has destroyed every couple episodes. And as to why he never uses this op power for anything else but cabbages / tells or teaches anyone about it / explores its possibilities further? Because he's just an obsessed weirdo, that's why. No different from every 2nd DC villain who has an extremely specific theme that he never deviates from.
He doesn’t mention this in the video, but as more evidence that Omashu fell from the food being infested Boomie didn’t even try to resist the fire nation’s takeover. If it was just an attack then resisting would be the normal course of action, but if their food is destroyed then why bother resisting when it just delays the inevitable
The second and first claims that the merchant is a cabbage bender. I believe it, but the fact that he went all the beyond the way to put a fucking tinfoil hat cabbage, bending My entire reaction is just. HUH
Cabbage bending can actually be canon believe it or not; in the official short story avatar comics there was a story called "New Recruits", in it Aang and the gang try to recruit new members to help take down the fire nation, Old man Yahshi then brings 4 different benders with unique abilities. There was one bender who could manipulate shadows and there was another who was able to bend cookies, yes actually. Technically since this is an official comic that is canon to the show it is basically confirmed that aside from the 4 elements it is also possible to bend other things as well, so if a literal child can bend chocolate chip cookies then it's pretty safe to say that the merchant cabbage bending isn't so far fetched at all, I'm surprised Alex didn't use this piece of evidence to back up the cabbage bending claim, it would've really help to solidify parts of this theory low-key
It is confirmed that katara has been able to bend plants and cabbages are plants, and plus what if one Cabbage Man's parents was from the Water Tribe while the other is from the Earth Kingdom. Also, Earth Kingdom don't come in the skin shade that Cabbage Man and the only group that comes in his same skin tone are the Water Tribe members.
Cabbage bending doesn't sound to far off from the swamp benders who bend the water in the vines to manipulate them as they see fit, from attack with them to creating plant armor for defense
Combustion bender is an air pressure bender, I’d say similar to accelerator from a certain scientific accelerator he speeds up the atoms in that specific area and it combusts
Y’all remember the theory on pearls mom a while back? Whelp there was another scene with a whale in season 1 that Alex didn’t talk about (prob cause he didn’t know about it) but it’s in the episode Sandy’s rocket, I’m pretty sure it’s before we meet pearl but it’s also nothin like her, it’s just the outline of a captured whale in the background when SpongeBob and Patrick are stuffing people into the rocket. But it’s a full blown whale, not shrunk down or anything
I believe the cabbage bending can be a thing because in The legend of Korra there's earthbending then there's metal bending and wood bending accidentally unlocked a Ford extension of earthbending which is plant bending which is my take on with Alex Bell is saying
The water bender Ming Hua is not a blood bender. She is a power water bender because she can bemd water psychically (no hands since she has none). She can also create weapons and tools, even opening a hole in a window. Combustion benders emphasize using the energy in their body and focusing it into a mental blast instead of separating it like they do with normal fire. Lavabenders seem to have a more fluid personality, loke water, but are fierce, like firebenders (even bolin is like this when he is serious).
17:44, what would make more sense is that the cabbage merchant is a Stockholm syndrome suffering waterbender who agreed to spy on the Earth Kingdom for the Fire Nation. The reason this would make more sense is because a master waterbender can manipulate plants, which cabbages are.
27:19, Combustion Bending is an advanced form of fire bending that is brought on by going through incredible amounts of mind-boggling torture until you co pletely master your chi and are able to gather massive amounts of energy into your forehead, and bring it into the world as an explosion.
I mean all fruits and vegetables are more than 50% water with some like cabages and watermelon being 90%+ so its not crazy to thinking that the water could be bended in the fruits and vegetables.
well cabbage are 90+% water so he could be a waterbender that only bends cabbages as dumb as it sounds. Also, remember king bumi said "we'll do nothing" when the fire nation attacked which is why they took over omashu, king bumi told aang about neutral jing and finding the right time to strike when the enemy is VUNURABLE........this could be why bumi didn't want to defend omashu and preached about neutral jing, maybe the fire nation used the same principle and attacked omashu when they were weak due to rotten cabbages destroying the cities ecosystem (poisoning the people and soldiers) and the fire nation knowing the secret entrance that would be a fairly noticable disadvantage.......king bumi must have known this assuming the theory is true and decided the best answer was practicing of neutral jing

Bro, Jackie Chan Adventures, is SO FREAKING BEYOND GOOD, IT'S LEGENDARY!
cabbage guys basically the my leg guy in sponge bob
Since there's more avatar stuff coming out. It'll be insane if they prove this theory right
Hell yeah I love your guys reactions
If shadow bending and cookie bending is a thing then cabbage bending is too
spongebob guy now turn into avatar guy
This makes sense I’m going to blow my friends mind with this video then all the wasted years of trying to figure it out who the spies were
27:19, Combustion Bending is an advanced form of fire bending that is brought on by going through incredible amounts of mind-boggling torture until you co pletely master your chi and are able to gather massive amounts of energy into your forehead, and bring it into the world as an explosion.
I mean all fruits and vegetables are more than 50% water with some like cabages and watermelon being 90%+ so its not crazy to thinking that the water could be bended in the fruits and vegetables.
4:17 bro got a brain blast
well cabbage are 90+% water so he could be a waterbender that only bends cabbages as dumb as it sounds.
Please react to MORT theories by theorizer, they are crazier than all other theories on the internet combined.
his Patrick theories 😂😂
and wrong asf. no viable evidence.
If you believe the combustion man can fire with his head, then cabbage bending is possible
17:42 MOMO'S HERE
I think you should check out the theorizer. His stuff makes you feel like a tin foil hot person, and its great
Love your video you two and keep up the great work you are awesome
This isn't a stretch because of cookie dough bending in the comics actually exist making this possible
I think the water bender bend mercury or something like it.
