    Curious about another "crazy" idea for Street Photography? Watch me do it with a F/0.95 manual lens: ruclips.net/video/pwqozPt2SD8/видео.html

      Thank you so much! It was a challenge in the beginning but once I understood how to use the lens I had a very good time with this experiment and I will do it again ☺️

    Gotta love a fisheye lens for this type of photography. I thought I was the only person to use one.

      I really enjoyed using it and will do it more often now. You're definitely not alone brother ☺️

    Some nice shots - I'm planning a night time visit with a fisheye and finding not many people have tried it - perhaps that tells me something 😂

      @fabienb  7 месяцев назад +1

      Haha, yeah maybe. A fisheye is very niche and maybe not to everyone's taste. But as you can see you can get very interesting results with it, particularly because it's so underused and people are less familiar with such wide view. I take this lens out whenever I feel the need to be more creative and still enjoy it.
      Thanks a lot for the comment!

    Greetings from Taiwan. I notice that you take every photo with -3ev, , I think you like this dark style. :) This fisheye lens I have 2 and use it for northern light photography almost every year, it’s great for this job, maybe you can try sometime. I do use this lens for street photography occasionally, it’s quite sharp with nice color saturation and bright balanced brightness. It’s a happy lens, wish you are happy when using it.

      Thanks a lot Ace, I do like the dark style a lot and I have personal reasons that led my to this approach (I believe they are written down in another comment here).
      I use this lens for artistic shots, and it does make me happy to use it, but I haven't tried it yet with astrophotography. I think it makes sense, so thanks for pointing that out. I'll definitely try it. :)

      Thank you so much Mia!!! I think I remember a 10.5mm fisheye from my old Nikon years, don't know if that still exists. Probably way more expensive than the Samyang though... but worth looking for if you're keen on trying it. Maybe secondhand or even as a rental. Good luck with the search!

    why they are so dark when it was so sunny?

    • @fabienb
      @fabienb  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hello there! That is my street photography style and how I like to capture a scene in camera. I expose for the light and then make it even darker by tweaking speed or exposure compensation.
      I also explain in another comment here why I started shooting this way.
      Do you like the style?

  • @visual_chris
    @visual_chris 2 года назад +2

    are the photos dark in general or is it on purpose?

    • @fabienb
      @fabienb  2 года назад +5

      It is how I like to shoot my street photography. As I explain in another video and comments around, I went full time into Photography after a difficult time for my mental health in my previous life as a Creative Director. Hiding people in shadows was a way to avoid contact back then and it has settled as a way for me to photograph.
      I do take very different photos as well, like super bright landscapes and joyful portraits for example, but it's the main way I do Street Photography.
      You didn't mention if you liked the style or not... ;)

      @@fabienb Thank you for your video. There are few that cover street images with extra wide or fisheye…and some of those are more architectural.
      May I ask…given your style of imagery, you still prefer color over black and white?

    • @fabienb
      @fabienb  3 месяца назад

      @@TrilobitesRTasty Thanks a lot! I'm often torn between colours and black and white, and it really depends on the photo itself. But in general I still prefer colour when I want to provide context or leave less to imagination, while I turn to B/W when it's more about shapes, abstract or a different emotion to convey. Also, I love so much Fujifilm colours that I always feel guilty when I remove them :)

      @@fabienb Good point! I've been considering the view by some folks that...if there is not a specific reason to include color in an image, then leave the color out. Who knows. But that view has got me thinking about it, anyway.
      I received a Meike 7.5 mm F2.8 today...for a planned small town photo trip in a couple of weeks. So, I want to see how it works to take fisheye street images...and then crop them to 65:24 aspect ratio for panoramic views. I hope it works out. :)
