May I ask if you grew up with Adam? I've seen you in every comment section of his stuff recently, and you even played some Cinematic songs on the end credits of some of your videos. Glad to know there are famous hootowls. Hahaha!
Adam doesn't just create music - he creates works of art. I wish he knew how much his music meant to me - it's been there through so many hard moments.
“so chase your passion and not your paycheck, be proud of what you have, and put in the work until your signature becomes and autograph” You’re so inspiring, Adam! Thank you 😭😭😭🤍
Only Adam Young (Owl City) can write a song about working in the most boring and mundane job ever e.g. grocery store and make it sound like the most majestic thing ever. Adam is such an inspiration and deserves so much credit for his work.
❤️ Adam said in the commentary ❤️: “It’s about the first job that I’ve ever had, I was 16 years old and a friend of mine, worked at a local grocery store in my hometown and he was kind of my in for me for working there. I remember I put in my application, I did the interview and I was hired part time after school, five days a week, working in soon be my department in the store, frozen food.” “Whenever there was a wave of customer that came through the store and things got kind of backed up a shift manager would call me over the intercom and that was my cue to drop whatever it was I was doing, run up to the front, uh cash registers and open a new checkout lane to keep the crowd moving through. When they would call me over the intercom, somebody would always say, "Adam, check please.” “My first day on the job, they gave me the name tag, a little clip-on name tag that said my name at the top Adam Y., under that it said the department I belonged to, "Frozen.” And under that it said “Years of Service” with a space. There was a little space in front of it where removeable number would go. The idea was to change the number as the years went up. But somehow my name tag never got the update so I was there for two years and the two years I worked at this grocery store it said, “Adam, Frozen, one year(s) of service.” And I still have the name tag." “And that’s the song. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to get my first job at the grocery store that I worked at. I’m really grateful for the money that I earned and values that I learned along the way, particularly how to work hard and how to take pride in doing a good job, didn’t matter what I was doing, I learned to take pride in what I was doing and that chapter of my life was really important to me, it was a really important part of my story and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

Every new song and album that Adam releases is always a journey. I have so many unique memories tied to every song, and it makes me happy when I get to make new ones.
I can’t describe how much I love this song as someone who works part time in a grocery store! It’s always encouraging to see where people started, and then where they go.

I can't explain how much this song means to me, my first job was in retail and I'm about to quit and get a different job soon, then here at 4:42 with "help is on the way" in the background, I've been dealing with a serious Eating Disorder my whole life undiagnosed and now we're finally getting help for it. for the first time in 17 years things look bright and it really does feel like help is on the way. I've always been so into music and composing and may want to do it as a career one day. Thank you Adam Young for being one of my big inspirations since I was a child.

First job i ever had was dishwasher at Skyline Chili at 18. They were not hiring but I i needed a job badly. My boyfriend worked there so I would come with him to work and sweep the floor. Then I started helping the waitresses clean off the table. Then that led the owner to asking me to cover shifts whenever people called off. After two weeks of that he said to me " You've worked so many hours I have to put you on payroll now!" I was SO STOKED. He saw my hard work and gave me a chance. I'll always be grateful to him for giving my first "yes" in the world! ❤
