When even Chris got scared and didn't just go like an orc idiot... Then we know it's bad place.
Connor & Chris: Almost dying
Chat: No 690420 oh no!
Priorities, man
My city, despite being touted as a bike friendly city, does this crap all the time. Bike paths that make you defy death by crossing highways or going on narrow af shoulders and stuff.
There's so much more going on behind the scenes than I realized. What a well-oiled machine!
That was so scary. Stuck, fading light. Glad there was the van option. My heart was racing when I was watching. that on Saturday.
3:33 i keep thinking it was here that connor's tire was blown
23:27 Chris shows silently to the camera what he thinks of the last 30 minutes.
There is definitely a lot of logistics behind the scenes. I love that there is so much help in the background. Thank you, van gang, and everyone else involved!
They had two cars following them all the time. Its really much needed help
This reminds me of when I went to a festival in Birmingham (UK) and got a coach back early morning, when we got near where I lived I drunkenly insisted the driver let me off on this dual carriageway, which to my surprise and eternal confusion, he did. Then he peeled off and left me stranded on a narrow layby with traffic going past at 60. This was before Googlemaps. I had to climb up a sheer banking, feeling like I was going to fall back down onto the road at any moment, up to the housing estate above the road, then walk a mile back to my house. Fun times. This made great content anyway, even if it was fucking terrifying for you!
Cyclethon has caught some flaws in Japan's cycle infrastructure. At least Japan is the one country where they will actually respond to some concerns/deficiencies and signpost it better or add a cycle lane though.
This is such a google thing too stupid app has taken me down some awful places and even told me to walk through a private company area too, so great yet so shiii at times I swear
1:55 jaywalking mission
0:24 That's a no stopping sign, presumably because the road is too narrow.
1:21 -and that's the van stopping.
I guess you can't help but rack up a few minor traffic violations when you bike and drive for 2 weeks straight.
Well… most road systems and rules are just not meant for this kind of cross-country, much less the apps the layman rely on to do this (I'm sure there's bike apps with better navigation but requires lots of dedication to verify it.)
Maybe it's just a culture thing and not law, but the general attitude I get in the US is that you should feel okay to break traffic rules for safety's sake. Stopping your van in a zone which is marked no-stopping to communicate to the cyclists you're responsible for, as a one-off thing, so that they can figure out a safe path, is not going to get you a ticket from most traffic cops in the areas I grew up in.
in some countries it's acceptable to stop even if it's not allowed as long as it is for an emergency situation, or to preserve safety, in this case, well, it would be for the van gang to make sure connor and chris were safe
@@Rinniepho They had radios for this sort of occurrence. Plus the van was wider than the bikes, so stopping it here just gets in the way of the other traffic even more.
Watching them not just go across was pretty cringe ngl
"It's kinda cringe to not just walk across on coming traffic ngl"
That kind of thinking is how you get to be the main character of a liveleaks video. I think anyone with a working brain would take being being alive over "cringe".
@@willconn3620 they could’ve crossed quite a few times. It was just stupid to see chat call it “scary” also it’s Japan they will
Stop for a pedestrian no matter what they’re doing or where they are because of how their law is structured.
@@willconn3620you wear a mask in 2024 don’t you?
