Man, I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again. Rap and Metal are so much closer than people think. I've never met a real rap fan who doesn't get the fuck down to a metal breakdown, and I've never known a metal fan who couldn't appreciate real flow and sick beats. Lyrically, thematically, there's so much similarity. We're basically cousins.

bro i know what you say, i've been a metalhead since i was a kid and now as an adult i feel like the next step in metal is the fusion with rap and trap, and thats why nu-metal was so popular back in the 2000's because it fused the rap with metal. We need more of that.

It's interesting that just after he says "I can't control the monster any longer that's inside" is right when the song turns metal, the metal is his other self that he was warning everyone beforehand... a brilliant transition in lyrics/music if that was his intention

Some background on part of the song. The long haired dude that had shit falling on his head represents Sebastian Bach (from the band Skid Row) who bashed Ronnie for canceling a show because their laptops the need for part of the show didn't make it off of the plane. Today's concerts rely a lot on laptops and track backing to complete the show. The band still plays their instruments like they should. There's just some back tracking necessary these days.
Sebastian Bach bashed him and insinuated that they aren't a real band if they have to rely on laptops.
Of course FIR fans were pissed about that as I'm sure so was Ronnie. This is his message to the dick with the hair.

Remember, there is zero chorus or repeat filler crap. This is all evolution through musical energy. Each evolution is more intense than the last and eventually leading from the most energy you can do with rap (Rap God style) to Metal (which has such energy as the norm), but then even higher with death metal. The magic here is you would not expect this level of mastery of so many genres on display in one video/song. It would be really easy to mess up a section of this progression and ruin the entire thing. Think about it. Every time he switched up, your jaw dropped. That is beyond music. It's a freaking experience that many songs today lack.

Ronnie comes off as an obsessive perfectionist when it comes to not only his music but the videos that go along with it. The video is absolutely fucking insane. It has a couple references scattered in. (Sebastion Bach getting hit by laptops, going darth going Disney line being said during a shot that looks incredibly similar to some shots of the first order from the Disney era of star wars, snd some other stuff.) The breakdown is fucking awesome. His vocals are incredible. He can really do it all and hes able to seamlessly transition from rap, to a new wave/ punk style "Chorus," to a modern metal breakdown, to extremely harsh vocals at the end. And the lyrics are written well. Clever lines throughout.
