a woman was returning a load of clothing at the mall. i was in a long line behind her. the cashiere at the register had to investigate before refunding everything and found every piece of clothing was far less than the item the woman claimed on the receipt. the employee mentioned this and patiently tried to insinuate the customer made errors unintentionally. security must've cornered that woman before she left the premises.

These actions will have consequences in Florida since Governor DeSantis signed into law tough theft crimes including working with accomplices. Florida is not going to put up with this as all states need to follow suit. Take photos or video and call police because we the consumers are paying for these crimes. The cost is passed on to us.

It's unfathomable that despite the presence of cameras, individuals still believe that they can get away with committing heinous crimes.
It's because many times they CAN! Unfortunately, especially with things like shoplifting and stolen cars/property these people are not punished or even attempted to be. My car was smashed and broken into 3x just this past year and cops didn't even want to take my name, let alone come out or investigate... And shoplifting, like for example in CA, you can steal up to $950 of merchandise and are not prosecuted, yet again police rarely even come out or investigate...

Same pondering here! I worked at a jewellers for a few years, and pulling the stock into the safe was procedure every night. 1 hour every morning, and 1 every night, to take down - and this is a small store where everyone knows everyone. Seems standard to me?

My late father had a liquor store for 20 years and the first month we were in business my mom and I got robbed twice by the same man. The first time he used a small gun the second time he used a huge gun. Luckily he turned himself into the authorities after he robbed several other places including a bank (which scared him and that's why he turned himself in). It was very scary.
If I'm a customer and witness theft.. im going to mind my business. Why would you put yourself in harms way for a store that you don't work at, own, have shares in...nothing. The two ladies trying to stop that man at marshalls were being very stupid. I'm glad they were not hurt.

I was sitting outside my apartment building here in Seattle. We have security cameras out front. I was robbed. Called the police, they contacted the management company and manager of my building for the security footage. The management company and manager refused to give the video and when the cops finally got a warrant the footage was erased. my case was closed after that.
