Artist like kweli never get that credibility, because the Grammy, to me, much like the oscars, do not hold certain value in lyrics in typical regard. Were this 1965, this album still doesn't get the grammy. 50 years after landmark legislation and an artist rapping the same soul of divergence; this means, there is still something to write in our society.

And I say "we 30 years old, time too grow up and listen to mature hip hop", See thats what i call Talib Kweli, mature hip hop. As opposed to Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Drake, or most other artists in the limelight right now. Talib's the thinking mans mc, an artist who will shine some light on the issues, rather than be a part of them. Talib will never be hip hops norm......thank god!

This is why I started listening to HipHop back in the day. Reflection Eternal to this is what makes Kweli timeless! Nothing changes good underground artists because to them its all about the relationship between music and their life. So in essence giving them fame only feeds into their energy of making good music.
