The Norris estate is only one part of the proposed route for the Coastal Path. The Osborne House Estate (managed by English Heritage, belonging to the nation) and Barton Manor Estate (privately owned) are also part of a proposed route that would provide a lovely alternative to the current grim walk down a busy A road and unsafe B road some miles from the coast
I know several people who wont entertain doing the Round the Island walk due to the section from East Cowes to Ryde.
I hope you get your wish ppl who care about the countryside don't abuse it and a walk along a busy road is not good for anyone driver or walker
Not really a National trust or Royal problem. The land slip that shut the coastal path belonged to the Norris Castle estate which is privately owned.
