Not really a National trust or Royal problem. The land slip that shut the coastal path belonged to the Norris Castle estate which is privately owned.
The Norris estate is only one part of the proposed route for the Coastal Path. The Osborne House Estate (managed by English Heritage, belonging to the nation) and Barton Manor Estate (privately owned) are also part of a proposed route that would provide a lovely alternative to the current grim walk down a busy A road and unsafe B road some miles from the coast
I know several people who wont entertain doing the Round the Island walk due to the section from East Cowes to Ryde.
One must'nt have the common people traipsing just anywhere their ancestors fought for for generations.
I hope you get your wish ppl who care about the countryside don't abuse it and a walk along a busy road is not good for anyone driver or walker

Is this off for a reason again ?
We have posted several times, however, we will say again - this camera is on a mobile data connection and is due to be upgraded in a few weeks to a hard-wired, broadband connection. In the mean time, the team are doing their best to monitor and keep this camera live, free to view until the upgrade has happened. The camera is live, and when it goes offline and the live stream ends, the team where possible, will reestablish a live connection. Sadly, there is nothing else we can do at this stage until we have access to the site to make hardware changes.
Will there be footage of the sprint? 🤔
We have a fault at this location, we have made some teaks and hoping it’ll stay live for the weekend :)
Never a bad day when you see a dolphin! Hopefully moving to the Island soon and will keep an eye out for them. Fabulous

What's happened to the webcam that used to be on 😢 that was live , this is totally false and rubbish. 😤😴
Thank you for contacting us, we have an intermittent fault on the Sandown camera and are working on finding a solution, we hope to have a more stable connection soon, in the mean time why not check out one of our other many cameras.
It's a shame the sound is Fake as the webcam has no audio!! So annoying when tuning in

A great turnout of brave souls .. I bet that water was cold. I've just filmed a similar swim at Tynemouth and I can tell you for a fact .. the North Sea is f f f freezing
