    Saw them in Dec. 1992....whoa!!!! They were probably the best club show I had ever witnessed! Should have been huge! While the world was Smelling Like Teen Spirit we were head banging to Wild side!!!!

    Saw these guys play after Roxy Blue, opening for Babylon A.D. in 1992 -- my buddy and me were about 14, sans parents, and front row -- one of the greatest memories of my life. Wildside was supporting UtI, which was 8 years too late. An absolute monster from top to bottom, and a blast to play on guitar.

    I was there- kicked ass !!!! Wildside (pka "Young Gunns") kicked fucking ass on "Under The Influence" (as good as Leppard's "Pyromania" and ACDC's "Back In Black"). THEY ROCKED! High adrenaline, melodic, headbanging, fist-pumping, pussy-wetting rock 'n roll written and played by kick ass musicians !!! GOOD TIMES. Thanks for the memories, Drew Hannah, Benny Rhynedance, Brent Woods, Marc Simon, and Jimmy D !!!

    I was fortunate enough to see WildSide at Dundee's in Kansas City in late '92. Unbelievable show that night! UTI is one of the BEST albums to come out of the entire era, and would like to have seen so much more by them!

    It is too much coincidence. Today that I'm watching this show for the first time, it's turning exactly 30 years old. 14/23/01. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    WildSide was a killer band! And 'Under the Influence' is a monster album--perfection from start to finish! These guys were set to be HUGE. On the front of all the hard rock/metal magazines at that time. But UTI came out a few years too late ('92) If that album had been released in the mid-80s -- these guys would've been as big as RATT, Motley, and GnR. They were just a little late to the party and by 1992 the music scene was quickly changing and grunge was taking over. It's a cryin shame! WildSide -- and alot of other terrific bands that emerged in the early 90s -- were robbed! They never got the recognition they deserved. That horrible, somber, depressing grunge crap came along and ruined everything! And grunge wasn't around long was it. There's a reason for that. Because....it sucked !! I sure wish WildSide had gotten their due. They really were something else! Seeing this live footage is really great!! Thanks for sharing this for all of us to see!! Alot of us never got to see WildSide live so this is the next best thing! TY

      +ShadowAngel By the second album 2 of the 3 main songwriters in the band (Benny and Brent) had left, it was a last dash effort to jump aboard the Grunge gravy train, didn't work, widely shunned by WildSide fans and the band itself.

    Saw them do a solo club show during an off night when they were out supporting motley on the dr feelgood tour.
    Really good show but could tell they were a little burned out or tired. Shitty part is there were probably only 30 people in the club.

      Draper didn't come on until around '94 when the second incarnation of this band started recording that awful piece of shit lizard covered album called "wildside" s/t... They say draper was the reason for the change in style and sound. But I would argue that they had already changed as per benny's memory of the situation. Brent Woods' songs started to sound heavier and more grungy towards the end. Look at drew here, does he look like a guy who won't embrace grunge hahaha? The band was already headed in that direction and would have sold out to grunge no matter what guitarist filled that slot. Benny was the only member who actually wanted to keep their old sound and vision. and he of course left before the second album was recorded...

    Wildside sounded AMAZING live. Most bands at this time sounded like shit. These guys always ROCKED it !! I saw them at the Stone Pony (Pitruzzelis) in Riverside, CA. My brother Troy G. (Jimmy D's buddy) is listed on the album too.....

  • @mercuripietro6888
    @mercuripietro6888 2 года назад

    love the guitar player he has a warren dimartini thing going on in his playing pretty cool band and first album they got a ratt sound but a bit more sleazier its realy just a bad timing cause at that time nobody was coming out whit this sound not even the new comers in this gender and our favorite bands of the 80's had already past their prime of puting put great albums

  • @staccystixx734
    @staccystixx734 4 года назад +2

    Great ass band !!!!! But loose the grunge look!!!!!! Remember you are from LA.

  • @Sean021122
    @Sean021122 7 лет назад +5

    Proof that drew and the band were posers after all. Already by '93 they had changed their "Look" and were trying to blend in with the flannel wearing (backwards cap wearing) slick grunge invasion. These guys totally ruined their band and legacy with their second album in 1995 which was a complete 360 and a far cry from their amazing early stuff as Young Gunns and into Under The Influence. But you can already see this band changing with the times and forsaking their identitiy by 1993 so who could be surprised one iota at that debacle self titled Wildside album they would put out in '95?

    • @d1webmaster
      @d1webmaster  7 лет назад +4

      In a time where you had to adapt to survive though, what else do you do when that's what pays your bills? Hair was out, Grunge was in...writing was on the wall. If they had made UTI part 2 instead it wouldn't have sold, part 1 was late to the scene and didn't sell what it would have if released 2 to 5 years earlier. That's the breaks sometimes. As far as "the look" and being poseres...just a sign of the times, man.

    • @Sean021122
      @Sean021122 7 лет назад +3

      A sign of the times I never embraced and wildside did NOT need to take on. They could have stayed strong and kept their fanbase. Instead of turning into what they thought would sell. I'm of the belief that you play music that you love period. You might want to be successful and make money, etc. But the reason you are doing this awesome "job" is because you love the music and you want to convey your vision and sound to the masses. You need that outlet of expression of what comes so beautifully inside yourself... When you start to put ,money and success over the actual music you are writing and producing, that is when problems begin. Yes many bands tried to turn into grunge that were melodic rock/hair/sleaze/glam metal for years before. And they all failed for the most part. This band was sooo goood up until around 1994 that you just can't fathom such a change in direction. They were that damn good and proficient in who/what they were. I don't care what was in or out of style. You do what you love and make music that is an extension of your heart/soul period...>

    • @d1webmaster
      @d1webmaster  7 лет назад +1

      once Benny left the wheels came off...they were lucky to still have a deal and were well on the way out...timing of it all and the quickness of the Grunge movement just killed stuff overnight. I think they just did what they could to survive, but it wasn't enough...or good.

    • @AlternateUniverse
      @AlternateUniverse 7 лет назад +2

      @d1webmaster, well, we lost the Capitol Records deal in later 1993, Woods bailed then, and I left in June of 1994. Wheels, engine, and drivetrain fell out! All that was left was a worthless burned out shell! lol
