For anyone looking, the petcock on the radiator is on the bottom left corner when you're bent over the engine bay. It's a wingnut-style turn. There is a drain knockout on the shroud where you can place your drain bucket. Unless you're really big, you should be able to get your arm down there without disconnecting anything if you angle it right.
Andy had that new part on while the neighbor was still mowing grass. If it’s me, he’d have the snow blower running by the time I figured it out.
Thank you so much. Just what I needed to replace the dame part on my wife's 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe!!
I have a 2009 Kia Rondo. It looks basically the same. Is that a 2.4 ? I replaced the hose housing and it kept leaking. I was in shade, also. Then the sun came in and I saw a crack where the top bolt goes into the whole housing unit. No wonder. I guess having good lighting is important. Would have saved me time. Now I have to start a slightly longer process. But at least the thermostat will already be in there and I don't have to struggle with lining it up and keep it from falling out. Great content. Cheers.
I was having flashbacks of the last Audi water outlet housing I did!
Very good Video!
Thank for the information.
Thanks
The metal pipe that goes into the back is there a seal for that? I did this on my wife’s car and it’s leaking again, but I can’t tell if it’s coming from the thermostat housing itself or from the metal pipe.
Thanks for posting! How long did this job take? I need to do the exact job on my grandson's car.
I think it took about an hour and a half including refilling the cooling system and waiting for air bubbles to work themselves out
I thought only the German automotive engineers attended the Rube Goldberg Institute of Automotive Technology. Looks like Kia engineers do too.
I guess I am out of luck to find any video of a 2018 thru 2021 V6 Sorento thermostat housing gasket to engine replacement video. I am on my own. Sucks.
That is BS. what crap engineering to have that much work to replace a thermostat. That’s Bs Kia crap for ya
I agree
This video was the biggest waste of time bc of the narrator 💯
Can't please everyone
