Brother, I just was watching other videos and thinking coil overs shocks! The Struts are Genius idea! Awesome Review and Design! Best Regards and Keep Safe!
I did that suspension on a trailer for Radio control hobby
Very cool! Working on an A arm design for a cargo trailer camper conversion. This helped me get a better idea of sizing
I was wondering about your budget for the suspension and brakes. I just bought a 1973 tow low camper
Just watched your video on suspension dimensions. Thanks very much for taking the time to share this extremely useful information. I hadn’t cut the steel for my arms yet as I wanted to watch your video first. Your off-road trailer has some great features I will be using if you don’t mind. I’m a kiwi living in Australia. I will be asking for more info on your off-road camper as time goes by, thanks again. I enjoy your videos and enjoy listening to what you have to say about global and local events.
Thanks George- Its nice to know that Im on the right track with the channel-
Thank you mate 👌🏻

Got me wanting to try my hand at making myself a arm suspension for sone of the trailer project that we fix up to sale , and I definitely enjoy your videos on the eps sandwich foam panels
That is awesome!
Awesome 👍 video mate
Thanks 👍
Hi. I'm in the process of a build and I wondered did you need to adjust the camber? Did you build any pre-camber into the arms from the start?. Thanks. Daz from Oz.
what year range of Subaru forester struts did you use? it looks like a stout setup and I think I may do the same for my trailer.
I walked into Pick a Part with a tape measure and a socket set and found many coil overs that would do the job this forrester was one of those early model boxey shaped ones. rear shocks.
Your videos have been instrumental in helping me get started fabricating my own swing arm suspension. Can you explain in more detail how you could add toe-in adjustments by drilling out the holes and adding concentric washers? I'm not getting how this would work. Thank you!
Hello- yes I purposely made my pivot points far enough away from the cross member to all ow me to fit camber washers later in case the suspension ever takes a nasty tweek. you simply drill the outer mounting 5mm oversize on both tabs and buy two pair of eccentric washers from a suspension shop. You will need to weld on two strips of 3mm steel to give them something to push against. But its a simple job either while you are building or down the line - so long as you have a big enough space for the washers and the cage that they sit in
Hey from the U.K
wow just found your channel and subscribed ...AWESOME! I'm a kiwi in the Wairarapa and would be keen to talk to you in person... I'm already learning heaps from you, but i want more...cheers Matt
Thanks for the sub! - Im in Waikato
I was wondering, can i put car rear torsion beam to trailer.
Ive done that several times for a real cheap trailer- they are so cheap and work well. brakes are included too!
Thanks for the extra info. But I also have some questions about the brakes and hubs and....?. I am not sure what parts I need to have a complete suspension set with brakes. And where can I get this? Hope you can help me
No problem 👍 sorry for late reply- YT does not notify me of comments on older videos which sucks! I get all my stuff from trailparts.co.nz/category/brake-parts/?
Were you base mate
Stool is there something up with this video I've tried to watch several times it will not load
The independent trailing arms I'm fabricating are for an Aliner a-frame pop-up trailer. Wet weight is approx. 2000 lb. A friend gave me some 3x1" rectangular tubing. I hope this is strong enough to build the a-arms. After taking off the Dexter torsion axle, there should be some weight savings with the a-arms since the Dexter weighs a ton. Does anyone think I'm making a mistake by building them out of 3x1" tubing?
Its a bit sketchy . If you have the 3" axis vertical it will help Triangulation will keep it stiff laterally. you will still need some 2" square to carry the axle stubs
For the fourth time, video won't play. You tube mad at you?
That's odd David- It fires up first time for me! what country are you in?
