my brother has one on his TPN Sierra One, he can always shoot without a stuck ball, doesnt matter if the paintball is of poor quality, very recomended but doesnt replace a electronic loader
Not a bad concept for a gravity loader. I can see using this on cheap markers like the rentals at a feild or something like that. Maybe even a pump, unless you are a really fast pump shooter.
i give proto some props because it loades faster then the gravity feed although asome1 can just get a gravity feed and stick something like the shelf and have the same thing
I have one of these the normal slight movement of you or your maker on the go while on the field would be enough agitation to get the last balls of the shelf. I shot this using my Tippmann 98 custom while standing still an barely moving my arm around to change it's direction and I only shook it once to get the last couple 2-3 paintballs off the shelf and that's me just standing still and shooting just to shoot. On the field you don't have to worry about it. Plus I with this hopper you'll know when you're getting low enough to where you would need to refill.
everyone stop hating on this hooper jeez, its just doing its job not like all your rotors or vlocitys, i use it sumtimes just for fun, but i use mostly my vlocity.
@Yumyumtuna My point (that you obviously missed) is this hopper is meant mostly for pumps and mechs, especially blowbacks. If you have an electro, then this hopper shouldn't be considered because it was NOT designed for that purpose.
Funny, bought the original of this many years ago from a company called Tocamo. They sell em on eBay for around $8. That's about what it is worth. It works ok, worth $8.
@MSUspartan54 Proto and Dye are essentially the same company. For those guitar guys out there, they are like epiphone to gibson or squier to fender. It would make sense that the lower-tech stuff would be put out under proto's name because proto is the company geared towards budget ballers.
@sshea1222 a 98 is good solid reliable gun to start with if your more into woods ball, though in my opinion you should get your self a good hpa tank and forget about co2. when or if you decide to upgrade your gun you can still use the hpa tank on any future gun you decide on
if its made out of the same material as the rotor then this is a nice upgrade over a lot of similar grav feed hoppers. It would last a long time and be easy to wipe clean. Would be even better if you could split it in two pieces like the rotor to clean when you break paint, because honestly this will be used on mostly blowbacks and its bound to happen.
Sadly I find the VL200 hopper to be better. The slip ramp in the primo doesnt help, and actually seems to cause more jamming problems. The best gravity hopper ive seen has got to be the Extreme Rage hopper with the .50 insert which you can remove. It is small and seems to have a better feed rate than the primo.
@dragonpo6 I totally agree with you on that one. Its a hopper for those of us who have to pay for our own gear, not like rich kids who tell their mommies and daddies to buy them a dye NT and a rotor. NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD THAT STUFF!!!!!!
Even though the demo loader is CLEAR, There are no plans to make a clear loader. In order to do so, we would need to use Polycarbonate which is not the best material to use as it degrades over time and becomes fragile. As with the Rotor, the Primo is designed and manufactured to be robust and to give years of hassle free use.
@Yumyumtuna Being a hardcore pumper, it's still my opinion that they're a luxury. Higher RoFs can be useful in a game, but I feel that its not entirely necessary in order to shoot the other team out, as I have had countless eliminations using only a pump marker against all types of players. It's all in how you play.
for what its worth, it doesnt seem too bad. its like the annoying baby cousin to the rotor (primo means cousin) but i mean its doesnt look too bad for a gravity hopper
it would increase overall flow consistency if the arch was flipped upside down, rather than craddling the balls above. less shaking would be required. the designers should rethink the position of the arch.
@Yumyumtuna But what I don't understand is why these paint slingers are even watching this video, let alone commenting on it. The hopper's obviously not designed for them so why bother considering it? It does well for what it's designed for and that's all that needs to be said about this hopper.
Patent pending my ARSE! they copied this from the older hopper called Tacamo. However, thanks for making them, since DYE makes them better. But don't say CRAP like patent pending when you at steal the idea from someone else. It makes your nice company stained.
Hey I got an azodin blowback marker and you think the blowback will agitate it enough to get a bit faster bps? Say 12? Just cause I'm tryna be cheap here
This is probably the most "plain" item from Dye yet. I'm not saying it's bad, because I don't know and it doesn't look bad for people that can't afford electric loaders, people that have pump-action guns or slow semi-autos.
1. Whats a "shake and shoot"? 2. I'm going to be starting paintball, so what kind of gun should i start out with, hopper, ect.? If someone could tell me the answers to my questions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks guys for the replies a really appreciate it. 1. What do you think of the Tippman 98 custom for a beginner gun? 2. Should I use CO2 or Compressed air?
I know it does not come clear, as it was only a demonstration, but it would be cool to own one. It helps knowing how many paintballs are left.
very true
my brother has one on his TPN Sierra One, he can always shoot without a stuck ball, doesnt matter if the paintball is of poor quality, very recomended but doesnt replace a electronic loader
Just got mine in the mail today, this is a sexy hopper for those wanting gravity feed!
i agree. tacamo has been doing this a long time. I use tacamo loaders on my rental vibes and they keep up with the guns set to 11bps ramping.
Great idea for the newbies and rec players! A Good loader without busting budget!
So out of curiosity BC youtube took me down this rabbit hole, do you still play/are you even on youtube anymore?
My friend has one of these on his AKP... It fed pretty well for a high cap standard.
This is perfect for me! I hope they keep doing R&D for this hopper
Not a bad concept for a gravity loader. I can see using this on cheap markers like the rentals at a feild or something like that. Maybe even a pump, unless you are a really fast pump shooter.
wow big improvement on standard gravity feed loader
make a smaller version for pump
you dont need this for pump, who the fuck needs 8bps for pump?
Just get a tippman sportshot and call it a day
i give proto some props because it loades faster then the gravity feed although asome1 can just get a gravity feed and stick something like the shelf and have the same thing
I've definitely seen that shelf design before.
This would work really well in the woods.
it works in theory. I made a low profile hopper and made an internal feature that works in a similar way.
Depends on how much its going to cost, could prove an excellent backup hopper :)
best friend of the pump player right here
this is actually a really good loader and it can feed up to 12 bps for me
At 00:48 wut about the balls on the shelf? Would they fall without shaking it. I wouldve liked to see a few seconds after that to see if they stayed
@incredaniel actually its a really good rate for a hopper that uses a pistol paintbaun. and really good rate for a hopper that doesnt need batteries
im getting that with the kaos pump...sounds perfect with a pump
I think this is a great solution for al the truble with the old JT loaders they usaly rent with tippman markert at fealds:D
@Yumyumtuna My point (that you obviously missed) is this hopper is meant mostly for pumps and mechs, especially blowbacks. If you have an electro, then this hopper shouldn't be considered because it was NOT designed for that purpose.
@wiilikepie the rotor really doest feed that fast but its really fast doing drop tests. You have to put the tension up way high for it to feed 40s.
Yes! It would work great! Hope this helps!
-Jack
@MrNinja2112 it is PERFECT with the 98 RT because of the vibrations. i use this setup as my backup marker. you can shoot 10 bps easily!
basically the rotor of gravity feed hoppers.
its a loader for beginners and as I c it would be great for them. so its not a bad loader
Funny, bought the original of this many years ago from a company called Tocamo. They sell em on eBay for around $8. That's about what it is worth. It works ok, worth $8.

@wiilikepie it depends on the paint because if your using evil or marbs you might have balls cracking in the feedneck
amazing pump hopper when are they going to be in stock?
an amazing pump hopper is a Winchester 48. No need for 200 balls
@dynamicpaintball It works. You can even put on a Exalt Feedgate on it LOL.
@sshea1222 a 98 is good solid reliable gun to start with if your more into woods ball, though in my opinion you should get your self a good hpa tank and forget about co2. when or if you decide to upgrade your gun you can still use the hpa tank on any future gun you decide on
im getting this on saturday man.
i see this working very well for woodsball players... not speedball though because 8-10 bps isnt enough
@Gardo09PR its meant for pump players and guns that dont feed that fast, besides its not a agitated hopper its gravity
It would be pretty beast if they sold that clear demonstration model.
if its made out of the same material as the rotor then this is a nice upgrade over a lot of similar grav feed hoppers. It would last a long time and be easy to wipe clean. Would be even better if you could split it in two pieces like the rotor to clean when you break paint, because honestly this will be used on mostly blowbacks and its bound to happen.
i have one of these (loaders), works really well.

i want one....my halo wieghs a ton. I want something light and ive held one, they are LIGHT ! i personally dont even shoot that fast anyway.
@incredaniel thats good for a non battery powered hopper
it is a gravity loader but theyre advertising the shelf that is supposed to help.....im sticking with my rotor though
@wmcdougald yea but its a great alternative if ur on a budget or for woodsball when you don't need a high bps
@iTzDiLLoN Actually dye is proto...there was no buying involved..same company both by dave youngblood.
@guhhbot
its perfect for any mechanical or electo-mechanical gun.
i was this last saturday i was reffin at hsp and i saw some kiid with it!
i think it looks sweet
Nice job dye :)
friend has one of these it awesome and i was gonna buy one but now that i have an electric gun im gunna save up and buy a rotor !!!
pefect for pump or mechanical
same, looks cool gotta admit it.
its like a grav feed rotor!!!
@DYEPAlNTBALL Is it that big of a deal? I didnt think before i typed it in?
es el PRIMO hermano del rotor jejeje
GREAT FOR WOODS BALL
@DYEPAlNTBALL Yeah, I'm Pretty sure we already established that.
Cheap and sleek looking im getting me one
@wiilikepie the stock pinokio can hit above 40s for a few seconds then it loses speed
It's like a gravity feed rotor but by proto
@Yumyumtuna Being a hardcore pumper, it's still my opinion that they're a luxury. Higher RoFs can be useful in a game, but I feel that its not entirely necessary in order to shoot the other team out, as I have had countless eliminations using only a pump marker against all types of players. It's all in how you play.
It'll work good with reballs I suppose. But so will my revvy ;)
@MSUspartan54 Proto & Dye are essentially the same company. Think of it as the Epiphone to Gibson, for you guitar guys out there.
can you add a fast feed hopper loader to it?
hasn't a company already make a loader like this?
does this fit with a tippmann 98.
I wanna see a freefall drop test.
@HarrisonGreene it was to show that the balls were actually coming out the hopper :P
@incredaniel *paintball* but its really good hopper that doesnt need batteries
They already made one of these a few years ago. Tried it. Hate it. It's the same exact thing.
for what its worth, it doesnt seem too bad. its like the annoying baby cousin to the rotor (primo means cousin) but i mean its doesnt look too bad for a gravity hopper
Interesting, actually. I wonder how this will work out in real life.
Less often then a $5 hopper from walmart?
this hopper works better on blowback guns , they shake more
thank god dye made the rotor
lets see a clear rotor!
it would increase overall flow consistency if the arch was flipped upside down, rather than craddling the balls above. less shaking would be required. the designers should rethink the position of the arch.

can u put a speed feed on instead of the cap
@pbforlife100 Yes, like Empire and JT...
ESP and LTD guitars, or Gibson and Epiphone for example
Dope!
Dors this fit eith the crossover
Very nice! How much?
Patent pending my ARSE! they copied this from the older hopper called Tacamo. However, thanks for making them, since DYE makes them better. But don't say CRAP like patent pending when you at steal the idea from someone else. It makes your nice company stained.
the point of the rotor is not the speed, yes it has speed, but i bought it for reliability and battery life
optimal pump play??? maybe I'll stick to my Sportshot
@wiilikepie it will go higher then 42 on techpb it hit 47 on a sl8r
dye made a gravity hopper? wow
Hey I got an azodin blowback marker and you think the blowback will agitate it enough to get a bit faster bps? Say 12? Just cause I'm tryna be cheap here

1. What do you think of the Tippman 98 custom for a beginner gun?

Also does this hopper chop paint easily?
Thumbs up if you think proto should make a $70 price range hopper that looks jjust like the primo, except has a hopper and can feed 25 bps
no it will work for both cuz the rate of fire has dropped to 10pbs in speedball.
It runs on the gun's vibration
