I’m now in my forty’s I probably was around 13 or 14 ish, wooooow I haven’t seen this movie in almost 30 years. Lol they paid us 50 bucks for those few minutes and for every graffiti art we did that paid 30 buck apiece. The 90s were a good decade….
I'm just seeing this movie in 2022 for the first time. I remember when it came out. Neither the less; it enough to bring tears to my eyes to know it's still relevant to where I live. I don't know if the world will ever care, but I know that 'we' must.
I been looking for this movie, too! All I could remember was that freaking grocery store scene. I had no idea who was in it or what this was about. Just that it was a 90s hood movie.

The love we have for our queen makes us do things we normally wouldn't do. To every king watching this please get off the streets and raise your families as a real man should. Love her with all your heart mind, body and soul. And ladies if you have a good man please know that he'll go to the end of the world for you and his kids. So don't tease him about being a real man when you're mad at him. Remember that this man will lay down his own life for his family. If you have such a bond together than make sure he's not in the streets. Make sure you stand by him when times are hard. We hurt just like you but show it differently. Most of us cry in the dark to keep you from worrying about things we're supposed to handle. Remember that before saying harsh things to us. Just be loyal and love one another. Let know one come between you. Stay safe and free.....because We all fear the police coming to our doors telling us our love one is not coming home. Love and honor one another and raise your kids right... Black Rose

I can tell you what. Strapped is very forgotten, but the movie needs to be talk about in every conversation. I used to had this one on DVD, but it has few scratches to it. I had to buy it again and once I started playing it, it didn't have no scratches to it. Thank God!!! 1993 was the rough, rugged and rawest year for Hip-Hop. Real talk!! No pub intended.
He did it on purpose to dime him out...he was mad that Daquan was the one selling the guns the whole time all while throwing off his investigation. It was literally every man for themselves in this movie. No one really cared about anyone. They all had agendas. Dequan and the cop had the hidden agendas in the movie.
Bamboo: you's a bitch! You set me up!👊👊👊😂😂😂😂 this shit was hilarious, he had a lot of balls to bring that to Diquan moms house, he was trynna take it outside but couldn't hold it in nomore😂😂😂

THAITANproduction Yeah the prices on those Neo Geo Gold consoles back then were prohibitively expensive, along with the newly released cartridge games that were $299 - $399 . Only rich kids, drug dealers, and single adults working full time + overtime could afford to collect those. :/
BBGRed20 Yea $700 + 300 for each game sounds about right. I would always see it in the video game magazines where yo u can order from the back. NeoGeo could have probably been more successful if they didn't charge and arm and a leg. Most of their games can be played at the arcade anyways.
Basically everything he did was pointless even taking the charge for that kid. He looked out for that same kid that didn't even want to look at him in his time of need. The white guy selling guns to everyone continued to sell even while he was locked up. He protected someone who showed no remorse for murder against their own friend. His friend who tried to kill him still out selling guns and he could have gotten the kid locked up who shot his friend. Went free lived with his family and moved to Connecticut instead of being locked up and not being able to see his kid. The cop never delivered anything he promised and the justice system broke all his friendships, relationships, family and then took his freedom. Morale of the story, never work with cops or trust them, they clearly knew about the guy selling guns to the entire neighborhood when he pointed out they have no gun factories. Cop wanted him to feel the remorse for the one 5yr old that died, yet the cop didn't want to feel remorse for the millions of kids he caused to die by further investigating that white guy. Back to morale so Morale of the story. Don't trust cops, don't take the wrap for an ungrateful shit and if you are planning to bust someone get the full evidence.
Dre Loyalty fuck the street code all street dudes are snakes that only care about themselves anyway. His chances were better at cooperating but only with a detective that wasn’t a piece of shit dumb ass that tries to bust a high roller dealer with little incriminating evidence
"Your girl is gonna be in jail so long her parole officer hasn't even been born yet"! This has got to be one of the most underrated lines in motion picture history! 🔌🔊🆗🆒🆗
This was filmed in Spanish harlem, the parts with the PJ’s. Those are Jefferson Houses on 115th between 1st & 2nd ave. I remember watching some scenes being filmed from my 5th floor window. Somehow I missed this one growing up. Just watched this tonight. Excellent movie. Bokeem still remains one of my favorite actors.
Forest Whitaker made a GREAT movie. Man, I miss HBO showcase. "Mi Vida Loca" was great as well.
Finally i found this movie. Now i don't have to just watch the grocery store clip. :D

Dudes were playing on a Neo Geo at home in '92....baller status.
Yea man weren't those neo geos like $700 at those times
THAITANproduction Yeah the prices on those Neo Geo Gold consoles back then were prohibitively expensive, along with the newly released cartridge games that were $299 - $399 . Only rich kids, drug dealers, and single adults working full time + overtime could afford to collect those. :/
BBGRed20
Yea $700 + 300 for each game sounds about right. I would always see it in the video game magazines where yo u can order from the back. NeoGeo could have probably been more successful if they didn't charge and arm and a leg. Most of their games can be played at the arcade anyways.
THAITANproduction
Or on a emu for free.
Giraux I member my OG had a Neo Geo at one of his cribs. My nigga that shit was soooo much bread. Games were like 2-300
Basically everything he did was pointless even taking the charge for that kid.
Fuck the police
Dre Loyalty fuck the street code all street dudes are snakes that only care about themselves anyway. His chances were better at cooperating but only with a detective that wasn’t a piece of shit dumb ass that tries to bust a high roller dealer with little incriminating evidence
