    A good chunk of Haitian migrants also go to Canada because they can speak French. A good number of people that worked at the residence my grandparents lived in at the end of their lives were immigrants as they needed to be fluent.

      It is so BS that some people feel like they have to move to, or try to, the United States, which is almost entirely responsible for the conditions that led to them leaving their countries in the first place.

      It is not only Haitians and Central Americans, but also Cubans and Venezuelans who have a political, social and economic crisis that is happening there in those countries. But do not emigrate to Chile or the United States, Brazil, Canada, Peru and Mexico, those countries have many problems migrating to countries like Uruguay, Paraguay, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, Suriname, Costa Rica and Panama. Now there is a program so that migrants, when you show up at the border between the United States and Mexico, can apply or they can take you to go to Spain and Canada between those governments.

    I think the core of the problem starts at 3:59. The core problem is Haitians don’t have the economic means to support their journey and the language barrier , cultural differences is more significant than them being black.
    The solution is for us Haitians (yes I am Haitian) to fix our own country and build the economy to provide jobs for these people.
    We can’t just blame the hardships these people are facing just because they’re black. The reporter is herself black from a developed country with resources, I’m sure her experience would be different. The reporter is making it seems being black is a bad or inferior to others. Racism exist and discrimination has been proven but we can overcome this with money and resources to make Haiti great again!

      Exactly.. I'll tell you the truth. There IS a bit of resent for immigrants in the caravan as many have been so mean, disrespectful of peoples kindness even throwing food and clothes they give to the migrants, and negative acts but that's mostly online! Other than that, we don't care about the skin color mostly. Mexico is more about classism (in more privileged circles) but most people don't care about it and are friendly people. Most of the migrants and their lawyers make themselves as victim of Mexico (I say this because in the US there is lots of violence too) to appeal to the people and be able to make the government accept them, but the US is not accepting most anymore! Most of today's migrants are economic, not refugees.

Undocumented migrants have a large number or rights regardless of their nationality and immigration status. However, there needs to be a way in where in a civil way (without being rude) and have people apply from their home country (instead)to apply to migrate in a legal way /it’s safe for everyone

  • @soniarosado78
    @soniarosado78 6 дней назад +26

    Despite the unfortunate conditions in Haiti the USA has no obligation or responsibility for their conditions. USA has their own struggles and it does not need additional burdens. Many illegal immigrants begin to brake the laws and criticize the USA because they want the country to give them free services: food, housing, clothing, medical care, and cash. Americans have to work every day to have these services.

All the videos I see about Haitians in Spanish videos are of success, gratitude and perseverance and they always seem thankful of Mexicans organizations. There is a reason why they are coming to Mexico and leaving Brasil, Chile and Argentina in the thousands-- -because they are treated better in Mexico and because they are able to get jobs and assimilate.

      I have lived all over North and South America. America is the least racist country on the planet, although Mexico is close. As Mexicans we do not realize this because we don’t live in an extremely diverse society with a variety of foreigners as our neighbors. In my neighborhood I am the only half-black person, there are no Asians, no Europeans, no Southeast Asians, just me and a bunch of retired Mexican teachers. Americans don’t live like that. They are accustomed to living in a melting pot of many cultures and people, and with much less friction than you see in other countries. They have a right to want to protect their culture, the same as us. We should all want Haiti to improve so they can protect their beautiful culture as well.

That country should provide them shelter, education, a job, and healthcare. Many Haitians do well in TJ. They open businesses, get educated. Not exactly cheaper, but it is less financially bureaucratic, unofficially. Meaning, big businesses have to register and pay taxes but minor transactions like used car sales between individuals and small businesses like a taco stand, go untaxed. The standard of living is low by US/European standards, but the standard needed to live healthy (not comfortably) is lower. Imagine if you can't afford to build your home to the legal standard in the US or or UK... Or you can't afford to buy municipal utilities... Then you don't get to have a house. The government will literally take it from you if you try to build it, without their permission.
    In some US states it's prohibited to collect rain water for consumption or not pay to have your home connected to the public works infrastructure.
    Not everyone is rich with larges cars/homes in the US/UK. Many survive on same wages as Latinos in towns that look WORST than many parts of Mexico.
    I understand why so many gringos move to your country. It's to expensive to be poor in the US.

    While it is true things are terrible in Haiti, running seems to lead to the same misery and death one thinks you are running from. To put one's precious life in the hands of a people who themselves have lost hope and are traveling across the US border is crazy. The saying goes, "You can't do the same things and expect change; that is called insanity." From Africa to Haiti and all poor people fighting for their lives around the world, the first world cares nothing for your suffering; only you do. Stay home and fight for a better future amongst yourselves; stop looking outwardly. There is more time than not; failure or a measure of abroad create your paradise at home. The bandits, rapists, and savages have merely changed faces. Their level of brutality only increases; stay home and fight the devil you know. Life is no dream; if you must, struggle for yourselves and future generations at home.

    I get that this video is made to bring attention to their plight, however, I don’t understand why it seems like you’re complaining that they don’t get free housing, medical, and Food stamps? Well, this is Mexico, some people live exactly like that. It’s called POVERTY, poverty doesn’t discriminate against race, religion, color. Hmm? With that said, why are you making Mexico look bad? Ilegal border crossing is dangerous because they end up in the hands of criminal enterprise. Maybe instead of making this for the American people to watch, make it accessible to the Haitians so they understand not come here, OR, understand its PERILOUS, you may be raped, killed, extorted, they should know. Give them the opportunity to decide. Those Haitians that understand their odds, where they will be, and how they will be treated are the ones that succeed. Because they understand to come to another country and be humble, and they will start from the bottom and face hardships and negativity. So only the cream rises to the top, only they make it because they understand what they need to do, behavior is adjusted, patience and persistence is key. It’s all in the mind. If come over EXPECTING safety, freebies and chances, well, just know-you’ll never make it. This is why Mexicans make it in the USA, because we bow our heads down and take the abuse from Americans because we know what we have to do in order to survive. And if life is lucky, you’ll
    Meet some good Mexicans that will help you succeed.
