    English translation:
I was glad when they said unto me:
we shall go into the house of the Lord.
Our feet were standing within your gates, O Jerusalem:
Jerusalem, which is built as a city that is compact together.
For thither ascend the tribes, the tribes of the Lord,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
For there are set the seats of judgment,
the thrones over the house of David.
O pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
and abundance to those who love you.
    Peace be within your strength,
    and abundance within your towers.
For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors
I will ask peace of you.
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God
I have sought good things for you.
