Great job. I actually came to the same conclusions and was going to make a video and never did. The only thing different I found was that the Eagle corresponded to the scorpion in more ancient zodiac times, but I had a hard time finding sources for that so you’re probably right. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. And yeah, in the material I skipped over, Malina (and others) discuss the four constellations and some special attention is paid to the eagle.
This is some great teaching. In my opinion, this is probably the closest to Dr Heiser's style of illuminating scripture. Thank you for everything you're doing!
This confuses me a bit, how do we as believers interact with astrology? I am asking this because there are astrologers who have become believers and still operate in astrology, calling themselves prophets of signs, claiming that Daniel and the Magi used them.
I'm skeptical of anyone who calls themselves a prophet. There is a massive amount of humility needed to interact with this kind of material and attempt to project it into our future; humility that I think is lacking from anyone willing to call themselves a prophet. As to the first part, I wouldn't say the Biblical authors are "doing astrology" per se. They use the star signs as a time table. Even today, all of our days of the week refer to planets (sun day, mo(o)n day, etc). If I said I'm doing something Tuesday (Tiw's day, Tiw = mars), I'm not doing astrology because the day was associated with Mars. That said, I do believe God "used" astral symbolism polemically (here's where Daniel and the Magi come in). But that was the symbolic language of their day. I see no reason to attempt to recover it.
"That said, I do believe God "used" astral symbolism polemically (here's where Daniel and the Magi come in). But that was the symbolic language of their day. It was the symbolic language of their time, and God used it to advance His purpose.

How do they appear in people's dreams then because they won't appear in their glory unless you will be consumed
