Just snagged a 1 of 3 embargo with extra milling inside of the handles. It is a full slab embargo which I love with the newer texture on the handles but I got the solid color so it looks amazing. Mine will be lighter rhen the other full handle embargos which I love. Also due to its thinness inside it will have even more reverberating improving sound further. It's nutty af not gonna lie lol. Very excited! Mine will weigh 4.4oz with the titanium spacers and all 4 pins. I like the cutouts start near the blade underneath so it helps the weight distribution for the ends, so even if it's lighter the weight distribution should be slightly better. I think you would love the variation im getting due to it feeling/flipping differently lol.
I would tend to agree with pretty much everything you said. What I would add though, is from a beginner's perspective, the larger profile and weight system (using 2 pins), make for a little slower, perfectly balanced to my likes, ultra-smooth, super predictable flipper. I have #18 (satin/matte black), and it's my first choice every day. tune on mine is PERFECT, and at least mine is just ultra-forgiving. I can absolutely see how as the speed picks up, the size can become an hinderance versus a help, though.
are these knives almost 5 ounces? Looking at them I would have thought they were a lot lighter. Looking at them but I dont want another guillotine like the BM67 I had.
While the balances are similar, the handle geometries make them feel completely different. The extra length on the embargo makes it feel like a completely different beast
