This guy is one of the reason's I've gotten into rock climbing. I just started at my nearest bouldering gym. Very very tough but its such an exciting thing to do. Thanks Adam!! ;D
the way at the end hes talking about the routes he couldn't finish and how they might be harder than 9b+ ..... and everyone watching knows its silence :O

@@nickkendall3764 First of all, it's not like Magnus Midtbo owns the cave. Second of all, it's not like he would have been able to climb anything harder than 9a+. Third of all, he stopped bolting in the cave.
2:49 regarding 9a: "...maybe not so impressive to look at, but it's fun" 1 second after: screams like they're tearing him apart. Sooo funny Thank you Adam
The bolt clipped after the crux would be better if placed 15 cm to the left. Then it could be clipped before the crux. The crux fall brings him too close to the boulder.
History in the making. Who gives a fuck whats sounds he makes, Adam is climibng the hardest routes in the world and doing well in competition climbing.
Imagine being such a good climber that you have projects that you know should be possible for you, that are 2 grades harder than anything that has been done before.
That guy needs to take in the slack... Ondra falls multiple times and hits the rocks below... you can easily break an ankle or bust up a knee or shin...
+swish1onu He would get shorted on many of the moves if he didn't have the slack. He is specifically asking for a belay this loose. He knows the risks.
hallucinant de voir un assureur à ce niveau là laisser tomber deux fois de suite le grimpeur par terre, juste à cause d'un surplus de mou non justifié...
I don't get it why so many people complain about his shouting and screaming. Proper breathing technique is pretty much necessity to keep your muscles fresh and oxygenated if going to be successful on this level of the art. Why people act so rude? Most of casual whiners would scream only for sheer fear. Thank you.
@@MiNi-nn7zi dude, so you can't discern complaining from being humorous/jovial/cynical. Lol. Ironically, you just complained (albeit indirectly) yourself. That was kinda rude of you lol. Ya dummy. Hahaha.
+Alorand It is ideal to exhale on strenuous physical exertion especially when having to flex a muscle hard. Couple that with the amazing amount of core exertion he is doing it makes air escape fast causing an honestly involuntary scream. Some climbers will hold their breath on these moves though which I think is less than ideal (even Sharma screams sometimes). Sometimes that exhale actually seems to get you a bit longer of a deadpoint in my experience.
Amazing climbing all around. But I have a question that I hope people don't find sexist, But on the very hardest climbs, can the woman match the men ? I don't mean in speed terms , just the ability hang from your fingertips for extended periods. I get that this sport is very much a power to weight game ( as is road cycling ,my sport) but at the highest level, don't the men just have the strength advantage?
Men do have a strength advantage. More specifically they have more power per muscle mass, which is unsurpassable. Women are also generally shorter so more difficult reaches but they have thinner fingers that can dig deeper in some cracks. Also generally lighter so better for finger skin. But climbing is not pure strength, that is why a girl has climbed 9b (harder that this video), that only a few men in the world can climb. To be honest, i feel sad when girls try so hard. It feels way too vain.
We don't think drilling holes in rocks in order to climb is natural, you are changing the intrinsic nature of the area, the mountain's very consanguinity and that isn't good.
@@Puleczech Natural is a mountain the way it was formed WITHOUT human intervention! And you don't have to swear to get a point across! That just indicates immaturity! Mt. Everest has holes and metalwork and ropes all over it, it isn't natural at all anymore than the inexperienced, unacclimated egoists who climb her must to say they did! (Many climbers (NOT true alpinists) only get on the mountain and climb a ways to be able to say they "climbed Mt. Everest" but they did NOT summit the Mountain, there's a big difference. Littered with bodies and climbing equipment, the Mountain is no longer "natural" -- it's merely a huge source of income for Nepal and some income for Tibet.

Remember, ALWAYS bring hearing protection when belaying Adam Ondra.
the level at which this madman pushes climbing every year is so far beyond anyone else ever has its crazy.
That moment when you deck but hop on for another go and deck again. That is determination
If he ever is through with climbing hard rock, he could still join a black metal band as a second profession. Impressive guy.
Czech wolverine/ardvark (*insert strange animal) screech metal. Very avant-garde. Lololol.

6:32 Best scene :-D
Honest man.
2:03 ... well that was an "oh shit" moment
and thats the moment he knew - that he fucked up
Bruh😂
He was still on the rope, you can see it,no big prob, most likely locked grigri
this is just insane, i just got into climbing indoor i can't imagine doing that.
4:50 Ummm, can you not deck me belayer??
damn, this guy is no joke. he can climb any rocks. respect and well done
I love the fact that he mentionned bolting what would probably become Silence and BIG in the end of the video
I would love an opportunity to learn from Adam. truly remarkable finesse and skill
I love how he is literally standing on silence XD.
I was thinking that
4:50 that's got to hurt
i dunno.. looked like he just brushed it
0:57, what a lovely landscape.

@Stoney Lonsome Sure, but a step back an forth from the belayer doesn´t hurt.

Great location, but the belaying seems questionable at best. Adam is close to crashing into the rock below on several occasions, with no crash pad.
:) it s no easy :):):):)
great adam..!
Yes! Been waiting on the film for some time now! Will it be available to order and download from your website?
did anyone notice Adam almost killed himself at 2:05. the rope almost pulled him off the mountain
He's already got one end tied into some throw away bolts, and has a grigri on the rope ready to rap down. Totally safe-ish.

soundtrack at the end?

"short"

Wtf is up with this belaying, there's so much slack

Such a bad belayer

Raoul K. because one shoe is more aggressive, maximizing the small foot holds he has placed on the route

wow ondra is not fun too watch/listen too.
He seems to push and be very hard on himself, I hope he remembers to have fun. Anyway what he does is super impressive.
Not sure I agree with drilling in mountains here in Norway, also, he screams a lot for no reason..:o
there is a reason... it triggers ur brain to release adrenaline, and increases flow of blood and oxygen to ur muscles to reduce lactic acid buildup
I dont like the screaming. It takes away the beauty..
ok
bestiality is not everyones thing
But it's my thing... RYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!
Try climbing at your very limit without screaming.
Yes, come back when you are climbing 8a or better. Then you can complain.
If you can't climb it without drilling the shit out of it, don't climb it. Bolting is Oldskool. Have some respect
