Nice idea with the white board,I was going to get a cork board but after watching this and seeing how it brightens the wall I think I've changed my mind ! thanks and I hope you are doing well! Heather
Thank you, Scarlett! I can't tell you how often I go to paint (and I do try to paint almost every day) that I can't think of what I want to paint. So frustrating!! I love the idea of having several small drawings to choose from....fantastic! I seem to be in the mind set that I have to do a complete picture every time I paint. I'm going to do this!! So many tips and hints.....love it! I would love to see more of these videos, so informative and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing. Nell
Hi Nell, Sorry I didn't reply faster. I must have missed this one. I have many more tutorials on the way. I hope you find them helpful. Please feel free to let me know if you do. Happy painting Scarlett
I enjoy bright thin glazes of transparent dyes so I like my water really clean. I have 6 X 1-L jars (2 pints each, pretty much), near full. I use one as clean, one as dirty and once the clean water looks too bad, I move to the next clean jar etc. When the dirty water is too bad, I use the first rejected-clean water as my new dirty water. This enables me to get 6 litres or so of water to give me 5 clean litres of water, effectively. I can make that last a week except when it's so hot it evaporates. Saves me getting up as I'm disabled and like to stay where I am really. I also use annotated sketches to work from - I use Cotman cold press postcards for those and I file all of them, with swatches on the back of the colours I used after the event, once I know what I used not what I planned to use, and I keep those for good in an A-Z index box by title of the work. I would not worry too much about UV and paints indoors. Glass is relative UV-opaque so v little will reach your table.
Thanks for the desk tour. I need more desk top space for sure. I have a wall of windows in the living part of my house. It might be a good excuse to paint on the dining room table and get out of my craft room.
thank you. I am experienced, but even so, I learned a few things such as using a very small easel for reference material, and a magnetic white board for small sketches. One comment; you forgot to add M&M's to your GORP.
Storing all of the things I have is overwhelming. Would love to see how you do it. I got carried away with comparing products. ( and do I have opinions!) . Resource material - hard copy and multiple mediums.
Thanks for the detailed tour! So much inspiration for my home studio! I am curious about your table. Would you mind sharing the dimensions and source? Thanks for taking the time to make this video! ~ Amy
My husband and I design and build all of our furniture. the table in this tutorial is 2x4m or roughly 6x6 feet. When we build our next studio (hopefully this summer) I'll post a video about how it is made, designing the layout and building the furniture. Scarlett

Setting Up your mic for video, how to edit and do a sound check.
Hi Micheal, Over the years I have slowly upgraded my equipment. My newest videos have better sound and are recorded with a rode mic. :)
Would you be so kind as to tell us what lamps you are using? Are they just your regular desk lamps?
It would be a nice video if the sound was good as it is now it is awful, I cannot hear anything you say!
This is a really really old video.
