    I wonder if they looked at CJI's numbers and decided to take it more seriously. Prior to CJI I think UFC was kind of on the fence with grappling events. I bet UFC legends and retired fighters might be down for grappling matches. I also wonder if they'll use a pit and alter the rules as well.

      Craig changed everything for sure. I like the idea of older retired MMA guys getting a paycheck without getting punched in the head instead of going to bare knuckle too!

      Even before CJI it was something Dana wanted to do. He’s been talking about growing the sport and taking over it ever since ADCC went with Flo instead of Fight Pass as originally planned.

    My only request is that they copy the CJI rule-set and arena! The pit walls and the 3 round sub only format is simply unmatched in grappling events.

    • @CombatArcade
      @CombatArcade  27 дней назад +1

      For sure! Think the pit needs to be availabe to all who want it

    I work for PGF and I'm super excited for the future of professional grappling and jiujitsu. I think we're going to see a lot of major developments in the next 1-2 years. I'm happy that you're covering some news and updates on the UFC's involvement with grappling.

  • @PlatinumNVD

    4:55 they can put it in the prelim or fight night cards

    • @CombatArcade
      @CombatArcade  25 дней назад +4

      I wonder if they’d even do that though. Im sure they will want to put a crowbar between the two entities. But having it on the same show would probably be the most eyes on any jiu jitsu event just by virtue of the UFC audience

      The American aren't ready for that. I've been grappling for years and even i find it boring.

    It tends toward another subscription monopoly with athletes locked into exclusive contracts, so I'm not into it.

    • @CombatArcade
      @CombatArcade  26 дней назад +1

      I’m interested in the terms, hopefully they can get dispensation for ADCC/CJI but I definitely see your point!

  • @BJJHacks

    2025 will be a big year for grappling. The UFC are going all-out. A lot more exclusive contracts on the way, high frequency of own-branded events, the reality TV show, real anti-doping... all this I've confirmed from people inside UFC. And there's more on the way, too. They're not looking to compete with any existing events or organizations, they're looking to take over.

    The money is very good? Ufc fighters aren't even paid "very good"

    • @CombatArcade
      @CombatArcade  25 дней назад +2

      Compared to BJJ grapplers, even the worst paid UFC fighter is doing ok.
      12K/12K is the base contract for the UFC, which is more than most grapplers will ever get for competing in one match.
      Obviously for MMA fighting, 12k/12k is not enough and the UFC is underpaying it's fighters massively. But I guarantee most grapplers won't find a $12,000 or $24,000 payday for one match. Even to win ADCC was only $10,000 and that's four matches. So what I am saying in the video is the UFC has the resources to pay grapplers a lot better than any jiu jitsu promotion.
      Mikey was making $50,,000 just in BONUSES for each match at ONE CHampionship, not even counting his base pay. So yeah, these MMA organizations are paying grapplers a LOT better than they've ever been

    You think it’s possible that fighters would be able to fight on other promotions so long as they were promotions that were streamed on Fight Pass (PGF, Polaris, etc) and just not on promotions that were on other platforms namely the ones on Flo?

    • @CombatArcade
      @CombatArcade  28 дней назад

      It’s possible! Good point. Dana did go out of his way to say “exclusive” but i guess we’ll have to wait and see!

      Brother if you think Mikey Musumeci (who was making USD$50,000 just in bonuses in ONE Championship matches) isn’t making more than that in a ~$9bn company, you’re crazy.
      Yes, the UFC massively underpays it’s MMA fighters because they don’t value them. And they have a never ending farm of them on the contender series. But that’s not the case for high level submission grappling, and the average BJJ guy is making even less than UFC fighters for their super fights and for winning ADCC.
      So yeah, these guys are gonna do okay.

  • @DannyKnightblade45
