QUESTION, do you know, or have you any idea at all, how much nitrates a handful of riccia can soak up out of ten gallons in a month's time? Like, how much plantmass, with how much light, would it take to bring 160ppm down to 0 in one month? I'm curious, cause I'm trying to design a refugium for a fish that's big enough to foul up 10 gallons a week, when I say, foul up, I mean, 40ppm, in a week!
I have 2 different types of Riccia. One is very fine and it floats away into nothing and another that is larger and more controllable. I don't know what they are called scientifically.
Good video man. I subscribed. Just keep the carpet well munched or it will become too buoyant and float away. I love riccia carpet. It's kinda of a bitch, but in my opinion it looks a little bit better than HC.
8 Years later. Just a quick question. Have any of your tiles started to float as the plants became bigger?
Great advice. I was wondering how you grow your patch of riccia that was out of water.
great video and thank you for the tips

Dude, you look like Adam Sandler.

does the riccia attach to where you can remove the sponge?
kingkato21 it will not attached. You may have to retie it
It doesn't attach, you let it grow through the mesh and that hides it.
