  • How to make a stucco sand finish with the basecoat.
    How to match existing sand textures.
    The most important thing with exterior stucco is the transition. If you know how to blend the new stucco into the original, you become a Jedi stucco master.
    Below are all the basic tools we use and recommend on Amazon's website.

    In this episode, we are showing how we spread stucco to look sandy.
    Why? We are blending into the existing sand stucco finish.
    Creating a new sandy finish with stucco while blending newly applied stucco with the existing one.
    We used a sponge float to give the walls a sand finish or, as we often called it, a stucco float finish, as we were using a handheld sponge stucco float to bring the sand to the surface.
    We apply both coats back to back, as we don’t mess around.

    I bought 1 of those green floats, I think it is Kraft....It started to peel off after 200sq f. Your videos are great thank you. Ill buy another sponge float and make more money :)

      Howdy Tombstone, I can use one for a week or two, however you hit a wire or nail, then they become useless for finishing but still good for cleaning tools or floating two coat cement systems.🕵🏼

    Another great informative video. Question: I have a crack that reappears in a wall i just stuccoed. I did a scratch, brown, and spray texture finish. The crack is about 4' long. What is your suggestion to repair it?
    Thanks,
    Wayne in Baltimore,Md.

      Hi Wayne Frazier, if it were me I would use a caulking, if it's a sandy wall which most are try the mor-flexx caulking, easy clean up and the sand in the caulking makes it match the majority of stucco finishes,
      Cheers!

    I had some parging done, sand finish. I'm finding I have to sweep piles of sand after it rains. Is this normal? And will it eventually stop coming off?

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  3 года назад

      Good evening Vanessa, not really. They put too much sand in the mix as when mixed properly, some may come off at first, but the remaining should stay put. Sorry.🤔

    You seem to use the words plaster and stucco interchangeably. Are they? Thanks.

      Good evening David dude. I do, as most folks dont know the difference. The correct terminology is stucco and exterior cement plaster. If one says just plaster, that means interior. Technically.😏

    i have a real stupid question for u bro.....whats the best water to get rid of the water in the bucket?

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  Год назад +1

      Howdy, we usually look for an area where the water can do no damage and simply pour it out.
      If it has lots of stucco in it, we pour the water out but take the stucco home as the excess stucco has Lye in it and can burn the grass.🕵🏼
