I like the guys that talk about how youd be lucky to get 500 hours or more out of one. I run a scrap yard and ive seen all makes in all kinda of shape. Stuck valves that destroyed pistons and broke rods WAY BEFORE 500HOURS . if your running a lawn service and the mower makes you $60 a hour it runs, doing the math thats 30k it made at 500 hours... 30k.. and you say its crap lol. When you could literally have a spare on the shelf and swap it out in a afternoon and go make another 30k . Ive run mostly briggs all my life and never had one bust never lost a crank seal. Only had one year where one wouldn't start after the off season and that was my fault because i put too much seafoam in it before putting it up. But i also blow my mower out after every use and do regular maintenance plus always watch out for the one stick that somehow jams itself in between the crankshaft cover and the drive pulley/pto...

Do the commercial turf series engines use the same clutch and electrical connection as the Briggs & Stratton. 23 hp Intek 440000 Extended Life Series engines?

Will a commercial turf engine fit my 2009 Husqvarna 2348LS tractor?

Get the Kawasaki if you can afford it. Briggs is good and cheap to work on

What's the difference between this and a Vanguard?

@joshua2585 you're spot on. I have a 23hp commercial turf. 360 hours & main seal leaking & hair line cracks near crankshaft leaking. Got it out back together &, now the governor Is all f'ed.

Briggs vs Kohler 7000 which is better

Personally I prefer briggs I've only had problems from kohler where I had to replace the engine because it wasn't worth a rebuild. The only problems I had with Briggs were minor fixable things

I just don't trust Briggs anymore.

Briggs used to be the best. But sadly they have cut quality in order to boost profits. Cheep components when needed to replace should prove it's fact. You'd be lucky to get 500hr out of one before it has major issues.

I definitely think you're onto something. My mower with this engine has 360 hours in the lower seal of the engine is no good. Noticed it leaking oil all over the place the other day luckily I saw it in time. Cost me $300. Not to mention regardless of how you winterize these engines they still run like s*** every spring and need a carburetor cleaning. I would not buy again should have bought a cooler
