    Thank you for doing a refresh on this video. The first one was extremely helpful. However, It would help to zoom the camera to have the iPad mainly in view or screenshot record view of what you're doing/referring to because it's hard to make out what are pointing to on BM3 UI to follow along. Thank you.

      Thanks for the feedback! I was testing out my new livestream setup when making this video, and the top-down shot is coming from my iPhone. I found a better way of hooking it up which gives MUCH better clarity! Thanks for pointing this out! It should be a lot better going forward!

    Previewing sounds before selecting is crucial for an immense library. And the available import options is just as important.
    I am in search of proper music production apps with the most streamlined processes, and brainstorming.
    So far its koala for importing and trimming, and blocs wave for just a few slices. seGments is the next study, hoping for unlimited slices and quicker implementation into a storm, and launchpad for layering.
    Slicr looked promising a while ago. But I haven't watched a tutorial yet. Fingers crossed.
    Thank you for the insight.

    Awesome video Thanks so couple questions. Everything from melodic samples to kits should go into import folder right? I used kit-maker and converted bunch of kits I had from sample sites and made beat maker 3 kits. Those I should also put in the imports folder correct?
    The other question I had for everyone is how are you guys managing your sounds. I have a tons of sounds tons of samples and drum kits. the iPad has a good amount of storage but it could get filled up pretty quickly. are you guys deleting packs and sounds you don't use and importing new ones every once in a w while?
    Thanks in advanced.

      Hey Chenchaso, all great questions! You have a bit of freedom when it comes to where you want to put things in your BM3 folders. You can put your kits that you've created into your imports folder, your samples folder, or the purchased folder. I personally put kits in the purchased folder, because that is where BM3 puts the kits that you get out of the sound store and it's just convenient to have them all in the same place. I personally keep all other samples in the imports folder. I am personally not deleting any packs or sounds. Audio files don't tend to take up a ton of room, so I was generally good back when I only had 256GB of storage, but now that I have the 1TB I just don't think about it.

    Is there any way to select all samples in a folder and drag them to multiple pads at once? Dragging each sample one by one onto individual pads are a slow and tedious pain.

    How would you join adjacent midi clips into one clip on a track? Because the midi clips are split in multiple places long samples sometimes cut out. Thanks

    Somebody please answer this question bm3 scale lock only apply to the notes on your pad or does it lock your notes to your midi controller keyboard as well

      The scale lock applies to the on-screen pads as well as any connected midi controller. 👍🏽

    Thanks for the video! I was wondering, in case you work with cubasis 3 and Beatmaker 3 as well, how do you do with the library? You have to duplicate the samples folder in each root’s app file?

    • @MusicTechnologist
      @MusicTechnologist  3 года назад

      Hey Oh Pee Van! Unfortunately, that is how iOS handles files. It doesn’t allow for shared libraries between apps, so yeah, you have to duplicate them between both apps, which I know does eat up storage.

    It seems that I bought a bucket of lag when I got bm3. There is no workflow at all. Just lag.

      Interesting. I know BeatMaker 3 has had it’s share of bugs, but more often than not these days, it seems to function very well for me. What hardware are you running it on?

    Wish you had showed how to load in an 8 bar midi file. Mine are loading in blank but I know they are good files.

    • @MusicTechnologist
      @MusicTechnologist  3 года назад

      Covered it in this video ➡️ ruclips.net/video/pkXwbBYRaAg/видео.html. Process should be the same regardless of midi file length.

      @@MusicTechnologist I actually watched that video before I watched this one. I had the same issue as some of the users in the comments. For some reason sometimes the files drag in but show blank. Sometimes I have to repeat the process 4 or 5 times to get it to work. Seems like it may be a bug.

    If anyone is using AudioCopy, and trying to import your sound packs into beatmaker 3, there is an easy process to do it, and it will put them all into banks

    This process is the weakest link for BM3. If they “fix” this I’ll go back to it. It’s just too tedious.
