    The stone looks like a mirror, its surface glistening. That's a surprise to me (as a Japanese). Yes, usually the surface is very smooth, but not that shiny if I'm not wrong. Anything special in it? Soaked in water over many hours before the use? What about typical noise of sharpening? Anyway, the outcome is fantastic, visually appreciable.

      it is a hard stone, that why it is shiny like that. But it was not mirror, just very smooth and a little reflective with water. Thank you for your comments
