This is the best part of the academy award 2018, showing the montage of the films we love and learn. I feel honor and proud to be a movie lover, Movies simply shape our lives of reality. These are the movies will be told over the years and what make cinema magic. This moment touch my heart deeply. Be proud to be movie lover.
Nursingjewel05 Beautifully said. I couldn’t agree more. Y’know you’re a real. Lee lover when they show 90yrs of movies and each one are your favourites lol.
"The purpose of civilization and growth is to be able to reach out and empathize with other people. And for me, the movies are like a machine that generates empathy. It lets you understand a little bit more about different hopes, aspirations, dreams, and fears." ― Roger Ebert
Great man, I miss him dearly. His love for movies became my love for movies. And it’s the reason why I consider it to be the best art form in the world that will live on forever.
The editor who pieced together this montage deserves an academy award in his or her own right. AMAZINGLY beautiful. The Lawrence of Arabia theme reallt gets me choked up.
And if he would... he would likely be getting it "off screen" to make more room for some dipshit music act. Fucking Oscars man, where they exlude a bunch of well deserved categories in favour of some dumb political BS and music numbers...
Well it’s better than the Oscars where they had a “heroes” theme (the one Ellen hosted with the selfie and the pizza) with those montages that didn’t even include Christopher Reeve as Superman
I come back to this every so often to forget the real world exists and just soak this amazing montage in. And every single time I get emotional and cry.
Who knew a bunch of moving pictures would grow to be so important? Who knew they could change so many lives and make us believe, and dream and reach for the stars
Needed to come watch this for a cleanse….after the shit show from last night. THIS is what the Oscars should focus on. Quality montages with perfect soundtracks. Lift the spirit and make you think of all the great times in the cinema. Not assaulting someone on live tv.
This was the best Oscars I have seen in a looooong time. I mean, this montage was everything. It’s so inspirational in the most fantastic way. I cried. I laughed. I cried some more. Good job to whomever pieced this together. It’s truly a work of art.
People were complaining over this four minutes "super long" montage like if they watched the Oscars only to hear +24 people giving 2 minutes acceptance speeches each. Seriously , complaining over this would only make sense if you're one of the winners or if one of the winners were going to thank you in their speech. This montage was so beautiful. I was crying so hard!. It's incredible how great movies make you feel so alive. Cinema is one of the most powerful things. Thanks for sharing, I wanted to watch it again!
Janis Sanabria true! The montage is like the whole point of oscars. Oscars is an event to appreciate films, and the montage is to show its art. Why did people complain about this? They're watching oscars, the ceremony of film awards, what did they expect???
Seriously, people complain this long montage, they were not emotional. If Anyone complains about this montage especially Oscar baiters, GO F*** Yourself. This Montage was magic and I haven't cried in tears of joy.
Whats so great about this is that it encompasses all types of movies, whether critically acclaimed or not, action, drama, comedy, serious, scary or silly...they all have their purpose and have meant something to all of us...I love the movies.
Hmmm I wonder how much longer it will be up - save it guys! Oscars/ABC/Disney...if you see this I will take it down if you wish but...for the love of the cinema...I wanted to share this montage that was beautifully done and well deserved of a beer..... ;)
Evan Nary No problem thank you for the kind words I would suggest saving it as I am probably going to delete the video in a few days to avoid copyright strike if they don’t delete it on me first
At a risk to my channel here on youtube, I felt I HAD to share this amazing, well done and simply breathtaking montage featured in this years Oscars. THIS is why I watch them every year! These montages take me out of reality..filled with hatred, politics, and overall negativity and transport me to the world...of the movies! Enjoy and maybe..maybe check out my own work on my channel..anyway love ya!
To think of it .. none of these actually happened.. but these fantasies have become a part of our childhoods and recreations.. dreams have become realities
My sentiments exactly: "These montages take me out of reality ... filled with hatred, politics, and overall negativity and transport me to the world ........ of the movies!" Thanks for posting! I couldn't agree more.
This is why I love movies. They represent a sense of wonder and euphoria in my eyes. And I love seeing the Oscars honor these fantastic films we all know and love. I've even got a chance to see the Dolby Theater in person last summer. And it's always been a dream of mine to attend the Oscars and maybe even present an award or perform a song at the awards. But one day, I hope to be with the best of the best.
2:42 - 2:53 is my favorite moment in the whole montage Andy Dufresne: "Hope. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." Shows a clip of David Oyelowo portraying Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma... then shows clips of Shirley Temple, Natalie Wood, Robin Williams, River Phoenix, James Dean, and Anton Yelchin... And now, 2 years later, we add Chadwick Boseman (a few clips later) to this list... Even though many of our favorite public figures are no longer with us, we'll still get to see them on films and TV, and online via RUclips/Dailymotion/Vimeo, etc. No good thing ever dies, indeed. That whole part was just too perfect. Well done, Oscars 🙏
0:08 Day One - Hans Zimmer 0:42 Suite from Forrest Gump - Alan Silvestri 1:38 Overture - Maurice Jarre 2:24 Let Them Up - Junkie XL 2:58 PM's Love Theme - Craig Armstrong
When I first watched this, I was standing and as it went on my legs started to shake and I couldn't stand anymore. Goosebumps everywhere with tears in my eyes. This is why I love the movies!
Favorite moment of the show by far! Why so many haters of this wonderful montage? If you really love movies, why would these 4 minutes be what anger you the most?
Matthew Tesoro I’ve heard rumors but I have not seen people angry at the montages I personally find this montage one of the best I have ever seen especially for this day and age
@XmenMagnetoAcolytes Yeah, that explains The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Selena, Office Space,The Shining, It- all movies with a combined zero nominations in the montage.
"These montages take me out of reality..filled with hatred, politics, and overall negativity and transport me to the world." -BSGT2TREKFAN88 Couldn't agree more
Favorite part was Atticus Finch uttering one of the most important quotes in the world: “You never really understand a person unless you consider things from his point of view..until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” 😭😭😭😭
I got teary-eyed with the clip of the seven dwarves marching. Not only did Disney push feature-length animation with this film, but his multi-frame camera technique is noticeable in the backdrop. :)
Just brilliant. I love the movies and all who are in them and make them, whatever their role, and I am just in tears. The one big thing that a movie would be lost without is music, and their music choice here is what brought me to tears.
When the Lawrence of Arabia rises and the goosebumps kick in, you know how hard this hits you. I don't understand how this doesn't have millions of views.
this is honestly the best motivation for screenwriting - just think to yourself that if you get your script done your work could end up in a montage like this one
This was the most beautiful montage I've ever seen. All I know was that I was slowly freaking out inside when they showed some of the greatest movie moments from the greatest films of all time. The voiceover in the scene from Thelma and Louise gave me the chills, though. Very well done Oscars and I sure do hope to see the 100th montage in 10 years
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST OSCAR MONTAGES IN YEARS! SO HAPPY THEY GOT A LOT OF MY FAVORITE FILMS REFERENCED IN THIS MONTAGE! CAN'T WAIT TILL THE OSCARS TURN 100! Here's where you can find their clips, image and/or sound, in the order that they are presented and with some additional comments, although in my list they are not in that exact order and some of them fall out of my Top 100 Favorite Films into special favorite categories (ones in my Top 100 are listed with a
There was a very quick and short clip from the movie "Sunrise" at the beginning after the Frankenstein part. It won a special Oscar at the 1st academy awards.
I’m very impressed with the scenes from 2:50 to 2:52. In them, there are River Phoenix and James Dean and Anton Yelchin. These talented actors unfortunately died though they were young.Oscars never forget their special acts.
those montages where out of the world this year, that is why i absolutely LOVED this years oscar show because i felt like it was really about the cinema we love, i just felt appreciated this year, thank you jimmy
Are you upset about the 1 second that Iron Man was in the montage, too? Or is it just the 1 second that Black Panther was in the montage that made you lash out?
So who liked this years Oscars? Reply below! ;)
no one
I love how they added movies that didn’t even win Oscars or weren’t really even nominated, that’s how you know that it doesn’t matter if they win an award or not but as long as they remain in your heart they are legends.
so true, every 2001 shot brought a big smile to my face
H e y z a l A m e r i c a beautiful truth
Alan Sanchez Tirado I hadn’t seen that movie at that time, but now, after having seen it a few months ago, I will always groan after seeing a clip from it.
It's not Oscar montage its THE AMERICAN CINEMA montage...

Bravo!
This montage is why I love movies
:’)
You love movies because of a montage?
@@Malcolmdeeb no dumbass, its because the montage shows all the greatness and excellence in movies.
Movies are simply what I’m most passionate about and I hope to tell my stories to people around the world.
@@angelcastaneda529 damn right, good for you and keep grinding for your craft.
How can you not be romantic about film after seeing this.

This montage made me cry. So beautiful!
David Kaylor Me too, I loved it!
David Kaylor omg I thought I was the only one
Happy I wasn't the only one :)
I was impressed! 👍
so.. here is the row?
When that Interstellar music started playing...
MakswelL777 Maybe now they realized that they made a mistake lol
Ricky Rushton I got the chills
There couldn't have been a better way to start a montage. Some of hans zimmer's best work
I FELT THAT
@MakswelL777 hasnt been the only year man's only got 1 oscar
“Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies”
No more beautiful words were ever said
That added with people who died before their time. It’s sad to see them gone.
River Phoenix, you are so missed
River Phoenix 😭
This is the best part of the academy award 2018, showing the montage of the films we love and learn. I feel honor and proud to be a movie lover, Movies simply shape our lives of reality. These are the movies will be told over the years and what make cinema magic. This moment touch my heart deeply. Be proud to be movie lover.
Nursingjewel05 Me too I especially love the small but short clip they showed of the Selena movie 😍😍
same here
Nursingjewel05
Beautifully said. I couldn’t agree more. Y’know you’re a real. Lee lover when they show 90yrs of movies and each one are your favourites lol.
hell yeah btw take a screenshot of this comment it will be a fun anecdote when I win my first Oscar.
I'm happy they show James dean, river Phoenix and Heath ledger
"The purpose of civilization and growth is to be able to reach out and empathize with other people. And for me, the movies are like a machine that generates empathy. It lets you understand a little bit more about different hopes, aspirations, dreams, and fears." ― Roger Ebert
J.D. Leisher Thank you! 😘 that's the best part ever and the best of movies!! That's what I look for when I watch a movie ♥
Great man, I miss him dearly. His love for movies became my love for movies. And it’s the reason why I consider it to be the best art form in the world that will live on forever.
Is good to read this at pandemic times
The editor who pieced together this montage deserves an academy award in his or her own right. AMAZINGLY beautiful. The Lawrence of Arabia theme reallt gets me choked up.
And if he would... he would likely be getting it "off screen" to make more room for some dipshit music act. Fucking Oscars man, where they exlude a bunch of well deserved categories in favour of some dumb political BS and music numbers...
It always does. It sooo magical
He won an academy award for his movie montage “Precious images.” Chuck workman!
Well it’s better than the Oscars where they had a “heroes” theme (the one Ellen hosted with the selfie and the pizza) with those montages that didn’t even include Christopher Reeve as Superman
Movies are everything
That is so very true inside our hearts.
´movies are life
They're a reflection of us
@@Panconciovedder exactly
When Love Actually Love Theme started playing.......
When Lawrence of Arabia started....chillls.
3:15 that transistion from Rocky to Adonis gives me chills man😭
"I don't want people to forget me."
- River Phoenix
No one will, not as long as movies exist and people exist, and people like you, Brittnie
I come back to this every so often to forget the real world exists and just soak this amazing montage in. And every single time I get emotional and cry.
I get chills up my spine
Me too bro
i just did that and came across your comment, still teary-eyed as i am typing it in
As do I, as I have just done ❤️
‘’Hope is a good thing
And no good thing ever dies”
I just watched Shawshank redemption right know
What tremendous movie
2:49 River phoenix!!! "Good thing never dies"!!!!
river phoenix my fave actor ❤️
Also showed Anton Yelchin!
@@natswim4ever And Natalie Wood, Robin Williams, James Dean.
Who knew a bunch of moving pictures would grow to be so important? Who knew they could change so many lives and make us believe, and dream and reach for the stars
this montage make me say: I fucking love cinema
Needed to come watch this for a cleanse….after the shit show from last night. THIS is what the Oscars should focus on. Quality montages with perfect soundtracks. Lift the spirit and make you think of all the great times in the cinema. Not assaulting someone on live tv.
Those River Phoenix clips brought me to tears, gosh I miss him
Best Oscar montage ever
Glad they showed River twice
Jack I saw the Indiana Jones but not the other?
im happy i found your comment :) i love river
Zackary Moran- Stand By Me
yes!!!!!!!!!!!! was super happy seeing him. i miss him so much
That cut from rocky to creed is just perfect
@@nursingjewel0517 People were complaining about this? What the actual fuck
Who tf was complaining??
They are idiot
When I saw they put River Phoenix in here Twice I almost started to cry ❤️
"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father."
"I am your father!"
That was a good cut!
Also, noticed when it said Fears, it cut to Pennywise?
"Riiight..."
That’s the point. 🤦♂️
The montage is perfect!
"no good thing ever dies"... rip Anton Yelchin
@@alex-hi5si And Natalie Wood, Robin Williams, River Phoenix, James Dean.
Can't believe that cut with River Phoenix made it in.
River Phoenix💔💔
Whats so great about this is that it encompasses all types of movies, whether critically acclaimed or not, action, drama, comedy, serious, scary or silly...they all have their purpose and have meant something to all of us...I love the movies.
Who here is watching it in 2019 and losing your mind at how good this montage was!
I'm a sucker for these kinds of music montages and I just LOVE movies
This was the best part of the Oscars,, by far. What an amazing montage
It’s montages like these that make me believe in the movies again.
Hmmm I wonder how much longer it will be up - save it guys! Oscars/ABC/Disney...if you see this I will take it down if you wish but...for the love of the cinema...I wanted to share this montage that was beautifully done and well deserved of a beer..... ;)
BSGT2TREKFAN88 I cannot thank you enough for this. I loved watching this last night, and will forever. I love movies. Thank you.
Oliver Olvera Screen captured from my DVR
Evan Nary No problem thank you for the kind words I would suggest saving it as I am probably going to delete the video in a few days to avoid copyright strike if they don’t delete it on me first
BSGT2TREKFAN88 That's a good idea, I'll save it. And that's also a good idea to avoid copyright. Thank you again!
This montage brought me to tears made me want to go out there and make a film
This montage shows exactly what movies make me feel. This made me cry.
Can't believe they put Texas Chainsaw Massacre in there that's awesome
Alex Stafford yeah I was surprised to see Leatherface doing his chainsaw dance in this montage.
And IT. Noticed when it said Fears, it cut to Pennywise?
Alex Stafford
So great!
Yes! Finally! I just wish they could've added Night of living Dead! Both Romero and Hooper left us last year!
Me too! That's the only reason I pulled-up this montage. And I've never seen TX CHAINSAW MASSACRE.
To think of it .. none of these actually happened.. but these fantasies have become a part of our childhoods and recreations.. dreams have become realities
That's the magic of movies
My sentiments exactly: "These montages take me out of reality ... filled with hatred, politics, and overall negativity and transport me to the world ........ of the movies!" Thanks for posting! I couldn't agree more.
As a film fanatic, a screenplay writer and an aspiring director, I'm bawling my eyes out right now.
I was on the verge and when I saw the T.Rex, the flood gates opened.
Damn, I love movies.
Seeing the Joker and thinking of heath ledger is actually what got my heart pounding
River, James, & Anton 💙💙💙
This was my favorite moment
mine too :)
Gone With The Wind is the best movie ever.
AC fan wuddup we got similar interests
“Movies unite us, They entertain us, They teach us, They inspire us." Morgan Freeman...90 years of dreams
I also visited this summer and it was cool af. Maybe I’ll see you there someday🙂
2:42 - 2:53 is my favorite moment in the whole montage
Andy Dufresne: "Hope. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
Shows a clip of David Oyelowo portraying Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma... then shows clips of Shirley Temple, Natalie Wood, Robin Williams, River Phoenix, James Dean, and Anton Yelchin...
0:08 Day One - Hans Zimmer
0:42 Suite from Forrest Gump - Alan Silvestri
1:38 Overture - Maurice Jarre
2:24 Let Them Up - Junkie XL
2:58 PM's Love Theme - Craig Armstrong
Watched this multiple times, still get chills. God, I love movies :D
So happy everybody's talking about River Phoenix ❤ he will never be forgotten
I'm glad to see Roger Ebert speaking - he REALLY appreciated films and understood their power. Films ARE the great ART form of the 20th Century.
Makes me cry every time. I'm so glad I love movies
I can't even oml cinema is possibly the most significant piece in human history there will ever be
When I first watched this, I was standing and as it went on my legs started to shake and I couldn't stand anymore. Goosebumps everywhere with tears in my eyes. This is why I love the movies!
This should've won the Oscar for best editing lol
Favorite moment of the show by far! Why so many haters of this wonderful montage? If you really love movies, why would these 4 minutes be what anger you the most?
Matthew Tesoro I’ve heard rumors but I have not seen people angry at the montages I personally find this montage one of the best I have ever seen especially for this day and age
1:52 & 2:49 river Phoenix 😍💔💖
I teared up when the Lawrence of Arabia score kicked in
Black Panther then Storm - I see what you did there OSCARS! BEST.MONTAGE.EVER
Daly Dally why storm? Where was Christopher reeve?
bcoz BP and Storm are a couple in the comics
@XmenMagnetoAcolytes ohhhh
@XmenMagnetoAcolytes Yeah, that explains The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Selena, Office Space,The Shining, It- all movies with a combined zero nominations in the montage.
Still can't believe they put the Love Actually music in there. Made me bawl my eyes out. This montage was fantastic. Movies are fantastic.
All my life has passed through my eyes while I saw this collage.
Same here trust me same here
Love how they start the montage with Hans Zimmer's music from Interstellar, which they completely snubbed.
"No good thing ever dies" - Anton Yelchin 2:50
I sometimes ask myself why do I love movies so much
This montage answered that.
"These montages take me out of reality..filled with hatred, politics, and overall negativity and transport me to the world."
-BSGT2TREKFAN88
Couldn't agree more
Anton Yelchin is shown right where the line “No good thing ever dies” is said 😭 2:51
I recognized nearly everything in hear! Oh, the nostalgia! Oh, the memories! This literally made me cry!
Favorite part was Atticus Finch uttering one of the most important quotes in the world:
“You never really understand a person unless you consider things from his point of view..until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” 😭😭😭😭
I got teary-eyed with the clip of the seven dwarves marching.
Best movie montage ever.
Brings tears to my eyes every time.
everytime,
everytime i see this,
i cry.
Join the club we got jackets!
I honestly burst into tears right when this started because of the Interstellar score playing in the background that means so much to me
When the Lawrence of Arabia rises and the goosebumps kick in, you know how hard this hits you. I don't understand how this doesn't have millions of views.
Harry Potter and the Hunger games! This montage was incredible!
this is honestly the best motivation for screenwriting - just think to yourself that if you get your script done your work could end up in a montage like this one
One of the best montages I’ve ever seen! And not just because I recognized so many movies.
I wanna see something like this again in 2028. A century of magic, wonder & awe.
Ty Lando I think we can expect that year to be an incredibly special one at the Oscars
This was the most beautiful montage I've ever seen. All I know was that I was slowly freaking out inside when they showed some of the greatest movie moments from the greatest films of all time. The voiceover in the scene from Thelma and Louise gave me the chills, though. Very well done Oscars and I sure do hope to see the 100th montage in 10 years
1:40-4:05 is a wonderful crafted piece of art.
This makes me cry.

The fact that all of my favourite movies were included... 😭❤️ This is so beautiful.
I've seen almost all movies here and I'm proud of myself
I have a problem. I cried really bad during this whole thing. Nostalgia. Its powerful
Shout out to the person who made cut from Black Panther to Storm.
