In Kerala we are not ashamed of people showing the reality of our state. That helps us fix those problems. I can't say the same about some other parts of India where people prefer to erect barriers to hide slums

This is a big shift for a Westerner to show the progress alongside the old culture and the slums by the roadside in India. I have travelled a bit and I have seen the mixture of all kinds of living even in the richest countries. It's the mindset and identity of some people in every country to live modestly 🙏
It is nice to see the transformation taking place in India. All thanks to the Congress Party that opened up India to Foreign Direct Investment in 1991 that resulted in the country having foreign exchange reserves of over $300 Billion in the Reserve Bank when they lost power in 2014. The then opposition Party were up in arms accusing the Congress of selling India to the White Man😂!!!. If we had not opened India to FDI, INDIA today would be like Pakistan....begging the White Man for money!. All the modernity one sees in India is the result of having done the FDI in 1991. Happy to see Lulu Mall. My home in Kerala is a few blocks away from the mall and I could easily walk to reach the mall as if you take the car, it took a lot of time, especially during peak hours.

There are a lot of huge malls in India like DLF, Phoenix, Sarath City apart from Lulu, and the sizewise ranking is not very clear but what makes Lulu Kochi unique is the direct access by metro rail to one of the floors and the Hypermarket especially for meat items and Arab and European food readily available at low prices that the common man cannot get access to or afford easily. I am amazed at the number of people carrying packed food to the food court floor from the Hypermarket but also appreciate the value. I daresay you did miss a few good eateries and regret that the food got repeated but with your affable and trusting nature, not to mention generous ways, you are bound to enjoy anything.
