This has a lot going for it. Volume knob with clear and visible indicator, no blue LEDs. Black serious looking cabinet. Dac AND amp in one. Enough power for every non-stupid headphones.
The problem is I love the stupid headphones that require stupid amounts of power.

Nice channel, Zeos. Let me try to contribute: once (long time ago) I was working with Protools, Dats and a digital console and I couldnt get rid of weird clicks when transfering sound digitally between the devices. Then I learned that was the thing called jitter, which happened due to clock inconsistency across the gear. Then I slaved every device's clock to the same source and the noise went away. The BNC plug might come handy there, to reclock everything to the same source
always love the videos, the audio video you mentioned is drift caused usually by the go pro and the zoom recording at different formats. 44.1kHz and 48kHz with the frame rate of your video, you can stretch the audio or just do what u do and add silence but that's a bit of a faff lol
I just got those tripowin cables and they are ridiculous and awesome! Also got the new Thic pads for the Phoenix which make them so much more comfortable.
Having bluetooth is pretty neat. I like having music running to everything i do at home

As Z said, enjoyable to listen to. I can't really explain it either, but it was very pleasing. Couple deal breakers for me though were the high output impedance, as well a a VERY large popping noise every time I would turn the unit off.
Hopefully for others the popping noise was just a defect. I think if these had a little more power and didn't have such high output impedance they would be absolutely amazing. I also feel that for the size this should 100% come with a built in power supply.

I've wanted to try something new for a couple years now, currently running a Origen G2. New products like this get me excited about upgrading but i'm usually always disappointed about the lack of easy switching from headphone to speakers like the Origen has, I use that little front switch multiple times a day. I guess its not a feature everyone asks for, but for me it'd be a hard thing to lose, maybe this one would be worth it though.

I use a X5s 6th Gen and X1s powered by an XP2. Now they have the X5s 8th Gen and X1s GT. Wondering if I should upgrade.
I use bluetooth on my DX3 Pro quite often. Especially useful when mates come over for a game of cards and one wants to use his playlist/spotify for the background music while we play/chat, so he just connects with his phone and off we go.
Linsoul sells the bluetooth version of the X1S GT, just ordered it based on Z's (and a few others) review. I'll let you all know how the bluetooth implementation is for this dac/amp if anyone is interested in getting it.
This seems like a natural step up from an ifi zen Dac v2. How do y’all think they compare?
I use the balanced out on the back of the zen dac into a balanced speaker amp though, so not for those of us with fully balanced setups.
For me personally blue tooth does not matter for desk usage. But for anything that's going to end up hooked up to a TV or used for medium or larger sized room speakers it absolutely is important to me.
Bluetooth on a dac amp can be good, and might be the deciding factor between 2 similar sounding dacs for me
Better to get a streamer or something with wifi that you can just hook up to any amp. Better quality too.
Hello Zeos, I bought the Aune X1S about 5 yrs ago after your review. I am setting up my first 2 Channel listening system in my main room. Is there any reason I should get the Shiit Modi 3 DAC instead of using the Aune X1S as my external DAC?

Let's assume i happened to have a little above 1000$ and i want to upgrade my setup. I was thinking to buy topping stack i mean a90 and d70s but i learned that there dacs aren't that important and that A90 is a bit of overkill for my needs ( i need headphone/amp, Sundaras and HD660s ). So there is a question can i just buy ifi zen dac signature and pair it with more expensive dac. Does it make any sense? Audiophile stuff is weird and you can read and watch a lot of stuff but usually you get back where you started but with confusion and anxiety.
Update i now have A90 and E50
I just want to say to every audio company making amps with dual outputs, it costs you almost nothing to include an output switch in the design phase

How would this compare to the Topping x shenzen EX5 looking for a more powerful dac amp combo I think its only like 30 bucks more with Bluetooth
If you can use the 4.4mm this Aune is great, for single ended it's less worth it and the Topping becomes interesting.

When it comes to headphone DAC/Amps, I don't care for Bluetooth. I see it mattering for folks who use active speakers with a device like this, but that ain't me.
Fyi, for single-ended performance, the Topping A30 outputs 6W at 16ohms and 400mW at 600 ohms single-ended. It has the highest single-ended power output that I'm aware of in it's price range.

I love sound warm relaxed no sibiance more smooth sound with full body bass and vocals...Aune will be upgrade for and fit for me to change ifi zen dac v2 with it?

I've heard of people saying that there isnt a balanced circuit inside soem of the aune dac amps, to name one the x7s, i wonder whether they can still mimic the benefits that come from being balanced

bluetooth matter to me when I am not listening to music (audio books, etc.).
My wife asks me what I want for Christmas. I always want to ask her for audio gear but instead i say the normal boring stuff: boxers undershirts socks deodorant. I’m deathly afraid of her seeing how much audio gear is and how much I spend on it. She loves purses and shoes. Some men love watches. I just can get enough of the audioz. I want it all even though I have 0 use for aune.

I have so little use for bluetooth on a desktop dac that if I had to pay a cent extra for it, on principle I wouldn't buy it.

Bluetooth on a DAC/Amp is definitely completely unnecessary. Every PC in existence has USB ports, and nobody in their right mind would use this with a phone.
I use Bluetooth from my phone for kexp and other yt only recordings. Never use pc as source device.
