They were playing a bill with Sebastian Bach and GNR so the audience was more like the 80s Arena Rock crowd and they clearly made a mistake hiring the Eagles. The audience didnt like them at all and really booed them hard becayse stylistically they are different than what the people were expecting. So Axl got pissed at them for ruining the mood of the crowd and shat on them. When he stepped on the stage the first thing he said was someting like "The Pidgeons of Shit metal can can consider themselves fired" and the crowd was cheering. The problem was it was his idea for hiring them in the first place not realizing how different they are in terms of genre than S Bach and GNR. He wasnt threatened. He was pissed at them for not living up to his expectations or some shit. And it wa sa douche move. INstead of protecting them or something he shat on them on top of the boos just to give the crowd the thumbs up for booing them.

Music is subjective maybe the 2 styles didn't mix well with the crowd. I'd rather go to a show and see an eclectic bunch of bands then hear the same music out of them all. Any major rap group opening for GNR wouldn't go over, doesn't mean they suck. Different crowd different music. You would never hear that from ACDC, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Foofighters, etc etc... Come on GNR is huge he didn't have to do or say that. Even managers take employees in private to handle things. Professionalism
