So basically as an Indian to write our O/A level equivalent exam, we need to make hall tickets for them. And one thing about my dad is that to follow all the 'rules' (idek if half of them ARE implemented because none of my friends followed them) my dad will not back down from making me look the ugliest possible in the photos for my official documents. I still beef with him about it lol. So for my A levels hall ticket, the photo he took was already horrible. And then my school people for SOME UNKNOWN HELLISH REASON widened the photo sideways. My face looked like a horizontal oval, my nose looked 5 inches wide, my already small cat/almond eyes looked disgustingly narrow. I GENUINELY looked like a serial killer cow. But ykw whatever, I hid the hall ticket, my friends good naturedly teased me but also told me there's no way I come close to looking like that irl everything was fine. On the day of my biology exam, I arrived in the exam hall with washed silky hair, glowing skin, my lips were redder and plumper and I actually looked like I slept because biology is my best subject and I hardly stressed for it. The invigilator looks at the hall ticket before exam start and goes 'what happened while talking this photo???' and I was like '......idk'. Didn't feel like a compliment more like an unnecessary comment because there's no way even at my realistic worst do I look like a horizontal oval serial killing cow but ig it's a compliment

It’s because we’re constantly burden with our own image all day everyday. From selfies and zoom to mirrors and even reflections in car windows force us to look at ourselves more than we ever have in history and then we start to obsess over every tiny little detail on our skin. Then we put on makeup to hide those little imperfections we’ve made up in our head and gaslight ourselves into believing that we’re not pretty without makeup. When I was in high school I wouldn’t be caught dead in public without at least eyeliner on because I genuinely thought people would see me as some ugly freak if I was bare faced when in reality no one gave af about me😂 now I’m 23 and haven’t worn foundation since 2017 and hardly wear makeup. I had my picture taken professionally for my passport. I wanted to tuck my hair behind my ears because I KNEW my face would blend out with the background. But the photographer tied it and told me to remove my stud earrings. The ears should show. But then she photoshopped the heck off my face. I looked like a boiled egg, all smooth and no blemishes! My friend said I looked like a pre-teen having an identity crisis. 😂 I took a selfie with a light makeup filter on it, adjusted the colors and had it printed. I left the imperfections on my face and I was happy to see that I still looked recognizable sans makeup.

It’s because we’re constantly burden with our own image all day everyday. From selfies and zoom to mirrors and even reflections in car windows force us to look at ourselves more than we ever have in history and then we start to obsess over every tiny little detail on our skin. Then we put on makeup to hide those little imperfections we’ve made up in our head and gaslight ourselves into believing that we’re not pretty without makeup. When I was in high school I wouldn’t be caught dead in public without at least eyeliner on because I genuinely thought people would see me as some ugly freak if I was bare faced when in reality no one gave af about me😂 now I’m 23 and haven’t worn foundation since 2017 and hardly wear makeup. If I wanna get dolled up it’s curled lashes/mascara and some lipgloss

The EXACT same thing happens to me 😭 so now every time I travel I have to put bunch of makeup on. The girl literally laughed at me and said this is not you. She had to get another person to take a look at it to verify that it was me, embarrassing

Lmao I remember crossing the boarder into the UK while I was studying abroad. I was SO sick (ended up diagnosed with glandular fever) and I remember the English boarder agent took an opportunity to make a good dig at me… while checking my passport he was like “wow what a glamourous photo…” took a look at me in all my sick glory… and said “what happened?😅” while chuckling… I must’ve given him a look with daggers or it was the tone of my voice cause when I said “I’m sick” his expression changed instantly and he went white as a ghost 😅
I think we were both humbled that day.

The British agents are so rude. I was 16 getting patted down by TSA at Heathrow and this dude made a comment about my balls to his coworker who laughed. He probably thought I didn’t speak English because we were coming back from Africa. I was too young and timid to say anything back then but the memory stuck to this day.

I once asked a customer for a second piece of I.D. The reason? The customer didn't match the picture at all. She had lost over 100 lbs, had stopped bleaching her hair, and returned to her natural chestnut color. I got one of the biggest hugs in my life from the customer. She was delighted I couldn't match her I.D. pic to her current appearance.

I applied for a job with Doordash to have a little extra income a few months ago. Anyhoo, they ask for a selfie, and a photo of your drivers license, to verify identity. I promptly receive an email stating that I did not get the job, because my identification could not be verified. Let's just say, I understand this very well. Lol!😂

i used to take passport photos and id always tell the customers to look like theyve been traveling all day.
This explains why the most common response to my passport picture is “wow! This looks just like you!” Like yeah… it’s a picture of my face.
I had my picture taken professionally for my passport. I wanted to tuck my hair behind my ears because I KNEW my face would blend out with the background. But the photographer tied it and told me to remove my stud earrings. The ears should show. But then she photoshopped the heck off my face. I looked like a boiled egg, all smooth and no blemishes! My friend said I looked like a pre-teen having an identity crisis. 😂 I took a selfie with a light makeup filter on it, adjusted the colors and had it printed. I left the imperfections on my face and I was happy to see that I still looked recognizable sans makeup.
Youre not supposed to alter the picture with any types of photoshop, even removing red eye. But hey you got thru anyway lol

Honestly, I still look the same since it was only lipstick and some blush. 😅I won't get held up by security, but I know the 1st picture would've gotten me in trouble.
