I’ve been using Spotify for years and just recently tried out Apple Music. I could instantly hear a difference in sound quality. Sometimes the difference was small and but mostly everything I’ve tried has been significantly better sounding through Apple
100% I bought some airpod pros and they gave me 6 free months of Apple Music and so far the sound quality is amazing, it has a crisper more ‘professional’ sound, loving it so far so I’ll see who I’ll go with
The sound quality is what gets me! It’s very noticeable and price worth. With a large family of 3 or more people to use ICloud storage and the rest of stuff it’s totally worth it. The 10 dollars on iCloud 2t and Apple TV is 16 bucks if you get Spotify premium family is another 16, the apple one premier is 30 dollars a month and you get Apple TV plus arcade 2t iCloud storage apple fitness witch I don’t use much, Apple News witch is ok and Apple Music. They were so smart to do that. seems like people with a large family will always chose that option over keeping Spotify. No brainer!
Welldone Sarae. Spotify Wrapped was off the hook last year coupled with the live lyrics roll out. I guess that's why they had to chill with the Lossless Audio roll out. I would have chosen live lyrics over lossless audio, so that explains their decision. We'll get it eventually. Spotify always!....
Great video, Sarae! Just a couple things to note though: 1. Compressed doesn't necessarily mean "better sounding". It really just comes down to how the producer mastered the song that will determine if the compression is better, worse, or neutral. But like you said, there's hardly a difference in this case. Both are great options in terms of quality in this day in age. However... 2. Losses audio on Apple Music does increase sound quality. BUT it can only be utilized if you are using good WIRED headphones/earphones. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how good or expensive your bluetooth headphones are, there's only so much data that can be sent over a bluetooth connection and it'll be like that forever until the end of time. At least until the next wireless bluetooth-like connection comes along and replaces it entirely. But I wouldn't hold your breath on that lol. Anyone that is trying to make the decision just keep those things in mind. Also, as Sarae mentions in the video, the most significant thing Spotify has over Apple music definitely, 100%, no doubt about it, is the music discovery. Spotify's music tailoring algorithm is currently unmatched and you are guarenteed to find amazing new songs at least weekly! Hope this helps!! Peace and love my friends!

Very true! People get tricked into thinking they can hear the difference, especially with Bluetooth headphones, but as you said, unless you have quality wired headphones then it's absolutely pointless
I really wanted to like Apple Music, but I just couldn't do it. I've given it a lot of time, too. Spotify is just a whole lot easier to use and navigate. Making playlists and discovering music is a breeze.
It’s also faster edit new music up or down on the edit playlist option! I just cancel my Apple Music didn’t find it worth it. I’d rather stick with the UI and better Spotify podcast and just wait for the HI-FI then just having a better sound on Apple Music witch is barely noticeable on my AirPods Pro and beats fit pro!

It's better than it used to be, and so is the audio output of iPhones, but I'm a studio engineer/concert engineer, and I'm kinda spoiled at hearing every detail 😉. I do recommend Spotify though, and setup my former bestie when I bought her an iPhone. Fun fact: At one time years ago, I was on the phone with Apple support, and asked if there was a way to play the iTunes music I had purchased on an Android or Palm device (Palm's T3 had CD quality playback then, iPhones did not). The guy paused, laughed, and said "That's not going to happen". And now we have Apple Music for Android, lol.

Personally I think the UI of AM is way more clean. The lyrics in AM also stand out way more than they do on Spotify cos u can go to a particular lyric and start the music from there. Also I love the distribution of the library in AM in the album format. Besides I think it’s better for podcasts to be on a different app because that just gets the app too clogged up. Lossless is just the cherry on the top cos it’s at no extra price so why not? I still use Apple Music but I definitely think that Spotify is superior in terms of finding music and the algorithm and the social aspect of the app.

Can’t lie this video has helped me in terms of which service to go with. I have AM for free with my phone plan however, I use Bose headphones and the music and podcasts sound better on Bose than they do on AM.

Yes, if you have expensive audio equipment then you might hear a difference, but for the large population, it's irrelevant. Spotify has great sound quality, excellent music discovery and user interface. I tried Apple music, tidal and RUclips music but went back to Spotify because it really has it all. .... Tbh the only reason i am staying on Apple music is for the lossless audio. I am not a audio file guy but when A.M. released lossless and had a promo for 4 months for 10$ i payed it and after my membership was over i went back to Spotify and i could instantly tell the difference in the audio ! Ever since i have been waiting for “spotify hifi” lol
apple music is $2.99 a month for individual and maybe even less for student, and the lyrics feature has been in apple music long before and better than in spotify cause when you tap a lyric it plays back that part of the song, and it has music videos for some songs, and it has Hi res lossless, so in my opinion apple music has better value cause it’s cheaper
Apple Music is 4.99 for a student and Spotify offers the same student pricing. Spotify also has live lyrics. The only thing Apple Music has over Spotify is lossless audio. Thanks for watching!

Great video! Just a correction - Apples bit rate is 256, not 320. Lossless and hi-res lossless have much higher bit rates if turned on!
