Don´t be so hard on you, I found good ideas on some passages, specially using that penta over G7 makes it altered and it is a good thing that early on you are developing an ear for those nuances, personally I would chose 2 extensions or two notes per chord to accent and to "land on" and try to play with them rhythmically first and then I try to find clever ways to land on them as an exercise to improvisation, you are doing great just remember a lot of the feel comes from our confidence
@@heidiguitarstuff You're rockin' Heidi! Love your vids and I'd 2nd everything @almendratlilkouatl said/suggested. The only thing I'd add (and you may already be doing this...) is that I'd suggest concentrating on working through playing "simpler" things as well. ie: Instead of focusing on incorporating these pentatonic concepts through the ii-V-I, also focus on simply arpeggiating through the Dmi, G7, C in a musical way; and/or using the basic chord scales in a musical way (D dorian, G mixo, C ionian). Going over basics never hurt nobody :)
@@ForcesInMotionthanks a bunch for watching! The more I get into this journey, the more there is to learn and practice! Totally agree with remembering to practice the basics…

@@almendratlilkouatl thanks for the note! That’s a great thing to remember that “a lot of the feel comes from our confidence.”
