My two cents, if you're going to speak about colour accuracy then it shouldn't be situational, it should be throughout the entire comparison. In fact, maybe have a 3rd frame where you compare phones to an actual camera so that we can see how close phones are. Great video as usual.

In 8K the log video seems to look way less processed. That would be the way to go. But honestly, you can also keep the S24U and get MotionCam Pro, which records 10 bit Log (ACEScct, V-Log, S-Log 3 etc.) from the 12 bit RAW stream directly resulting in better quality than both the S25U and iPhone 16 Pro can offer.
@@justphones3801 Quite expensive considering that besides the ultra wideangle lens everything is the same and the new ISP is bypassed by motioncam anyway.
Samsung is so bad on night video, it's 2 generations behind the iphone, the biggest diffrence samsung improved for night and low light video was from the s22 ultra to the s23 ultra, they were respectable close to the iphone, then once again iphone destroyed it easily with the s24 ultra and now again with the s25 ultra. amazing ultra detailed video with amazing analysis / voice over and of course amazing shots, thank you as always top of the top quality to be honest i really love the contrasty aspect that samsung is giving, i hope they'll keep it as is, but it's true that it should be tweaked for low light situations for example as you very clearly showed (ps : in some other videos it seems like the 3x telephoto really has some big color shift related to the contrast overall, i hope they'll fix this, looks like their is a white veil above the taken video, but i didn't see it in this review) waiting for the photo comparison now :D
I am sooo disappointed about the S25 cameras... Only daytime 20x zoom and sometimes 8K look better than 16 Pro. Dynamic range is some kind of nightmare! Fu*king AI...
I wonder if you may have gotten a faulty unit or one with a software bug. I've watched 10+ reviews at this point, and this is the first time I've noticed such a drastic difference between Samsung's and iPhone's processing. Almost every video you showed that was shot on galaxy in bright lighting is extremely blown out & soft
I guess it comes down to reviewes, will they choose scenarios in which both phones will be similar (if not the same) or go honest route and point out the flaws.
Samsung is on the right direction but the steps are too slow. There is a lot job for samsung to do to surpass the competition. I was expecting much better results, but they become stingy especially on hardware. So I'm not buying it
dissapointed of course, they will never fix their cameras, im samsung user for years, even now i have S24U, but my next phone could be iphone, i love their cameras.
Hi Danny Winget, first of all I wanna say I love your videos especially the camera comparisons. I have a quick question though, do you have HDR turned on the iPhone when doing video recording? The reason I ask is because I know Samsung has HDR 10 + so I’m not sure if there would be a difference there. Thank you and blessings to you and your beautiful family.
Good review. I find that Provideo mode on a Samsung phone is always better than regular video mode. With Provideo I'll bet the Ultra is better than the iPhone.
Danny thank you for this review your camera views are the best please always always talk about the color accuracy nobody does because you're there in real life so it's not an opinion it's the truth because if you seen it and how it looks to you that's super important that it's realistic I love Samsung but I was very interested on how close or how good it would be in video against the iPhone and I did like the iPhones videos and some instances but compared to what I have on S21 I'm very happy to see how much closer or what I have to deal with so this helped a lot I really appreciate your attention to detail and your description especially the color accuracy that you've added now
I don't know what to think. Is Samsung really bad or is the iPhone really good? I would like to see an identical comparison of the iPhone with the Vivo and Oppo cameras.
8:11 Samsung's low-light video has been 'improved', but it's still not as good as the iPhone. This time, details have been crushed for the sake of noise reduction or vibration. The best way to go is to keep details while reducing noise, but they ended up giving up one for noise reduction. I look forward to the next improvement.
"This wasn't the huge overhaul that I was expecting out of the box" Good thing the phone isn't even released yet, so it's not 'out of the bix' yet.. you're on pre release firmware until the 7th.. I've gotten an update on most of the samsung's I've gotten early so hopefully it'll improve lots. It took them way too long to improve the 24 Ultra zoom shots IMO..
That update won’t be anything drastic. We all know this. Most of those updates are carrier optimizations etc. Why would Samsung give us these phones to do this with? This is the camera it’s shipping with.
I used Samsung flagships for 7 years straight and NEVER did they fix anything major with those updates. It's more of a placebo effect. Even if they did, why should we pay for flagship and get half baked device, they didn't have enough time, user feedback, resources... to fix it ?
Iphone videos quality and details is just superb Plus better HDR DV videos Better log videos with better details And the night time video quality diff huge iphone brighter video without any noise
We are not actually waiting for camera what every body talks about ,, why you guys never talk about s25 speaker quality test and comparison ? This is very important,,
The thing I am the most dissapointed in regarding the 25U is that photos of kids that move are still blurry. My 3 year old phone makes crisp beautiful photos of my daughter that plays, even on a swing mid air. If that was "fixed" i would take the lack of shadow details any time because i really like the chipset in the 25U but those blurry pics man. I now understand it can't be fixed because it is hardware limitation of the used sensor. To bad they did not upgrade the cameras.
I think they could fix that with software, if they wanted to. Competition solved it years ago, with prehistoric sensors. Still, on Samsung, one has to use Pro mode or mess with gcam to get decent picture of any moving subject. I know a lot of people (myself included), who gave up on Samsung mostly because of shutter lag / motion blur.
I really wanted so bad to switch from my iPhone Pro Max 14 to S25 Ultra but after watching 10-15 of these kind of videos I just can't ... Rather switch to iPhone Pro Max 16 or wait for 17 ...
Dude, wait to the 18 or 19, you don’t need to switch every few years especially since you have the pro, id wait 4-5 years or even more with iPhone updates going for 7 years or more
More test videos I am watching a more confuse I am ... want to upgrade from my S22u Exynos to S25u but won't be disappointed ... will Samsung work on bad things with an update?
I've been a samsung fan ever since but iPhone really does have the best optimization for their video despite not having the best camera hardware. And with the social media trend nowadays that people prefer watching short clips rather than images, i think the iP16PM is the best bet as a content creator in 2025
All the work Samsung has to do will be done on next year's model because what you get from these phones out of the box is what you are left with. Come back and disprove me after some updates. Imagine Samsung has a special chip added for night photos and videos and it's still not able to compete 😅😅
You say color don’t change on the iPhone but on the zoom at the basketball game it did. Coming from iPhone 14 Pro. Using it for. Photography raw. I thought it was going to be the best. Till I was able to go back to my old raw photos of Samsung S21 ultra and it blew me away. 3x in Samsung it’s true. iPhone 14 Pro you have to use what the software thinks it’s best. It is super hard to hack it and use the true 3x all the time. Just my experiences since RUclipsrs have an agenda. Real used day to day people non tech heads wouldn’t notice the difference.

@@justphones3801 Quite expensive considering that besides the ultra wideangle lens everything is the same and the new ISP is bypassed by motioncam anyway.
Why did you change your title from "Not what I expected" to "What?"

Samsung can't compare with iphone on video.
It’s Nice to have you point of view of the real scene to make it easier to understand which is doing a better work
Your low-light test is not the same as others. I don't think you actually tested it with the S25U.
I don’t watch other RUclipsrs while I am doing my testing. This is 100% S25 Ultra. I went to Samsung Unpacked with Samsung and got my device directly through them.
@@dannywinget In other reviews, the low-light video quality and noise were significantly improved, making it even better than the iPhone 16 Pro. But I’m not sure what happened in your review
Iphone is better
amazing ultra detailed video with amazing analysis / voice over and of course amazing shots, thank you as always top of the top quality
to be honest i really love the contrasty aspect that samsung is giving, i hope they'll keep it as is, but it's true that it should be tweaked for low light situations for example as you very clearly showed
(ps : in some other videos it seems like the 3x telephoto really has some big color shift related to the contrast overall, i hope they'll fix this, looks like their is a white veil above the taken video, but i didn't see it in this review)
waiting for the photo comparison now :D
I am sooo disappointed about the S25 cameras... Only daytime 20x zoom and sometimes 8K look better than 16 Pro. Dynamic range is some kind of nightmare! Fu*king AI...
Love your videos. Thank you!
I was testing with 2 others who have a S25 Ultra. Same results.
@dannywinget interesting, thanks for the reply. If that's the case, then I'm pretty disappointed in its HDR capabilities
@@dannywingetis it better after updating the software?
I guess it comes down to reviewes, will they choose scenarios in which both phones will be similar (if not the same) or go honest route and point out the flaws.
Samsung is on the right direction but the steps are too slow. There is a lot job for samsung to do to surpass the competition. I was expecting much better results, but they become stingy especially on hardware.
So I'm not buying it
iphone won easily
dissapointed of course, they will never fix their cameras, im samsung user for years, even now i have S24U, but my next phone could be iphone, i love their cameras.
Watching yall argue in the comments is always funny lol
This is the comparison I've been waiting for, because it's detailed.👌
Samsang wins on daytime night time iphone wins but overall I prefer samsang
Danny, do you think the S25 ultra could the lead on video after some updates, based on what you're seeing right now?
No, s24 ultra didn't magically solve its issues with software updates. S25 will be the same
@eduard6450 great answer Danny
@eduard6450 But the point is: s24 ultra wasnt this good when it was lauched, the s25 is pretth great, so i thought it could get better and better
@@thomasm2161 obrigado
@@isaquebertoldo9499 the s25 is the s24 after all the updates. There's only so much they can do with the same old hardware
Samsung did nothing for the camera, the result is 2025 and it's a disgrace
It's like comparing tiger against kitten Samsung is the king 😂
lmfao it lost throughout the video what u on about?
@@veleyaarvines277 I found out that iphone was better when it comes to depth under water 😂
This isn't the camera comparison I've been waiting for. Do the OnePlus 13
I am only one person 🤷🏻♂️
Good review. I find that Provideo mode on a Samsung phone is always better than regular video mode. With Provideo I'll bet the Ultra is better than the iPhone.
Amazing video, thank you!
The noise on video on Samsung 🤮, still the worst camera on the market.
i feel video recording smoothly Samnang
Samsung is very good
iPhone is very good
iPhone is just better in videos
8:11 Samsung's low-light video has been 'improved', but it's still not as good as the iPhone. This time, details have been crushed for the sake of noise reduction or vibration. The best way to go is to keep details while reducing noise, but they ended up giving up one for noise reduction. I look forward to the next improvement.
Watching on my 16pro max❤
Galaxy for the picture and Apple for the video.
Thanks Danny. You're still the king of Camera Comparison to all smartphone since Nokia Lumia 1020 Launch - Present
"This wasn't the huge overhaul that I was expecting out of the box"
Good thing the phone isn't even released yet, so it's not 'out of the bix' yet.. you're on pre release firmware until the 7th..
Cope
I used Samsung flagships for 7 years straight and NEVER did they fix anything major with those updates. It's more of a placebo effect. Even if they did, why should we pay for flagship and get half baked device, they didn't have enough time, user feedback, resources... to fix it ?
Really nice review Mister Winget both are nice but I think iPhone did better hopefully Samsung can improve a little more
Iphone videos quality and details is just superb
Plus better HDR DV videos
Better log videos with better details
And the night time video quality diff huge iphone brighter video without any noise
The Log video on the S25U looks awful in comparison with its heavy oversharpening and noise reduction. No idea what Samsung was thinking.
@ yah
@ also Samsung log is 4.2.0 in colour Samsung vs chroma 4.2.2 in iphone which is miles better
Noticeable curvature for Samsung. You only need to increase the lighting in dark places at night with less noise
We are not actually waiting for camera what every body talks about ,,
why you guys never talk about s25 speaker quality test and comparison ?
Would love to see a similar S24 Ultra vs S25 Ultra video pleasee
9:03 ufos captured on the iPhone
Big Galaxy/Android fan here but... Iphone video camera specially at night looks better.
We all know that new samsung phones camera are not always better significantly, until about 2 to 3 software updates and camera patch
I really wanted so bad to switch from my iPhone Pro Max 14 to S25 Ultra but after watching 10-15 of these kind of videos I just can't ... Rather switch to iPhone Pro Max 16 or wait for 17 ...
Dude, wait to the 18 or 19, you don’t need to switch every few years especially since you have the pro, id wait 4-5 years or even more with iPhone updates going for 7 years or more
@@Michael-165tx Words of wisdom ☺
Been waiting, what about 5x night time video?
I seen the biggest problem Samsung have with video is the codec, Samsung they need to work for create a better codec with better quality
More test videos I am watching a more confuse I am ... want to upgrade from my S22u Exynos to S25u but won't be disappointed ... will Samsung work on bad things with an update?
S22 Exynos? Definitely upgrade
I've been a samsung fan ever since but iPhone really does have the best optimization for their video despite not having the best camera hardware. And with the social media trend nowadays that people prefer watching short clips rather than images, i think the iP16PM is the best bet as a content creator in 2025
After the s25 ultra is officially launched, will you wait for software updates before comparing it with the s24 ultra?
Lens flairing on iphone sucks
I think I can swear that my s23 ultra takes better videos then both of these. I don't know what's happening in tech and car industry
Never give up samsung 💪
All the work Samsung has to do will be done on next year's model because what you get from these phones out of the box is what you are left with. Come back and disprove me after some updates. Imagine Samsung has a special chip added for night photos and videos and it's still not able to compete 😅😅
The iPhone always king the video 👍💪
Excellent video Bro , I am with Samsung in video department also. Excellent 🎉🎉🎉Samsung
Hey Danny, what am patiently waiting for is S25 vs oneplus 13
This is so big improvement for Samsung. I'm so happy. Good job samsung 👏🏻😍
