I have a drop in fleece roller from London Design Aquatics in my waterbox 60. The only probem is when the water flows in and down it sounds like a waterfall. Wonder if this will be the same.
I have the 500, which replaced a Clarisea. The ReefMat is a really good design and changing the roll is so easy that I actually look forward to doing it ! Having the app tell you when you are nearing the end of the roll is more useful than I thought it would be. You can get all the bits as spares and a replacement motor is not too expensive. The unit is very well built so I doubt anything will need replacing but good to know the back-up is there just in case - unlike some other manufacturers! Feedback to Red Sea - hopefully helpful?? very minor point - the motor is noisy and not sure why it has to be? bigger point - the units are quite large and the space needed is increased significantly by the straight flexible hose connection. You include various bits of pipe to hard plumb but a much easier and better solution would be to have a 90 degree hose tail elbow that goes straight onto the unit. I say this because available 90 degree elbows will not fit your non standard coarse thread.
Good feedback - I agree. I originally asked Red Sea about the 90 degree elbow when I first spoke to them. They said they didn't think it would make much difference, but I think it would - even saving an inch would be really valuable. A quieter motor would be nice too 🙂
US prices don’t show VAT. US prices are always shown pre tax because VAT varies state by state. Final price will vary depending on where it is sold. A few states have crazy low VAT. Some states have 20-30% VAT so buyers will end up paying the equivalent or more if they’re unlikely enough to live in those places.😂
@@eamonkelly3256 Fair point, but sales tax (our VAT) is 0-10% in all states (some cities impose their own, but never more than a couple percent). I don’t know any jurisdiction with a 20-30% rate. So it doesn’t quite explain the difference
So tempted to get one for my gen1 reefer 170!!

What’s the needed sump 4” sock so it can work on other tanks ???
It comes with a bracket to fit into any 4 inch filter sock section I believe

Didn’t fancy adding your drop test in the vid🤣🤣
🤫😅
Any idea if it would fit an IM 20G?
I think it'd be too big but the sump dimensions for the Red Sea G2 tank will be on their website so you might be able to check there
Do we know if this will work the Red Sea e170?
I think probably yes but can't be certain
A great small addition. Shame about the lack of smart connection like the others but I suppose that’s the trade off
They said that was to keep the price low and size down...
Any explanation as to why uk are paying 25% more than US?

I hadn’t considered that - thanks

that was a terrible demonstration on changing the roll
😅 Yeah, fair point!
@ReefDork but I would still buy one if I had the right size tank. I really like the reefmat 500 I have.
