You can make our smallest size and that works for the Kindle. You can see the cutting chart on the blog: www.sewsimplehome.com/2023/12/book-sleeve-pattern.html#point3
Thank you for sharing! I need a book sleeve for the book that bumps around in the car. Just a side note, I am glad I watched this video, my Singer is noisy like yours. I thought I was doing something wrong (not enough oil or tension) due to the noise. How is it my mother's Singer from the 60s and quieter than the more recent ones? Craftsmanship isn't what it used to be. Sad.
I set my machine on a three but every machine is a bit different with their stitch settings. You want your regular stitch length to be somewhere in the middle of whatever range your sewing offers.
You'd want to add a bit more length to the top. As for what step, that would depend on whether you want the zipper raw edges to show or not. Maybe check out the boxy pouch to see how to hide the raw edges ruclips.net/video/-PxIgpckqRU/видео.htmlsi=v3RzxzHuFRuhWUrP
Thank you, this has been so helpful!
You're so welcome!
This was great! I'll definitely be trying this. My purse is rough with my books
Yay! Glad you found it helpful.
Have you done one for a Kindle/eReader? Thoughts on measurements?

That is funny. My normal Bernina is from the 70s and not super loud either. I wonder what changed in the design.
thank you for the tutorial! what stitch length setting did you do on your sewing machine?

@@sewsimplehome Thank you so much for the reply! Can't wait to try this out.
If I wanted to make it a little longer to add a zipper to the opening, at which step would I need to attach the zipper?
And how 😅
