Love it, just got one of these pumps and I wired up a cheap 100w solar panel with a little charge controller, keeps the regular 12v marine deep cycle battery charged effortlessly. Trolling motor foot switch to wire into the circuit for a “push-button” pump
you are the only person who states that it isnt a pressurized pump. i just bought this one on accident. good pump but i have no use for it..i need it for an off grid cabins kitchen and bathroom. need automatic shutoff!
I’m not certain but I think your pressure gauge isn’t registering anything because it’s on the wrong side of the pump. Reading after the tanks and before the pump will only show pressure from gravity. Install it after the pump output if you’re interested in how much “push” is coming from the pump.
Your example seems good for a water source located ABOVE or at the same level with a water consumption field. What about to fill a 55 GA barrel standing on your truck sucking water from a pond or a stream ? Does it gonna work ? What hose length such pump gonna support ? How soon a water is gonna come to a pump body before it's gonna burn down ? Your answers would really help.
Shoot, we don't know. Steve says check the specs on Harbor Freight's website. We are relying on gravity partially to help the pump so he doubts it, but he says only the specs will tell you for sure. ;)

Sounds excellent!! Great work!

Definitely! Hope you find the right one for you.

Thanks for the tip, I will set it up that way soon, as we are entering watering season:)
There is also a 120v transfer pump in HF which is about $20 costly but would avoid the need of stepdown and conversion.
Thank you!! :)
Very helpful, thank you
Yay! Glad it was helpful. :)

Thanks for your questions Bogdan. I will try to get Steve to see this soon. -jak
Those applications are something we are not familiar with. Sorry we cannot help!
How did it go with the algae? The reason your pressure gauge wasn't reading is probably because it's on the suction side of the pump.
No problems with algae at all. The north side of the barn is a perfect spot it seems. Thanks for the pressure gauge info!
Can u use it in the rain ?
No. We cover it under a bucket when not in use.
Can you run this pump as a replacement rv water pump
No, because it does not have an on demand pressure switch like an rv pump would.
What kind of water are you holding in the tote tanks?
I just bought a empty tote tank to catch rain water.
Rain water from the roof.
It should work well! :)
Think this can suck water straight up a 1-1/4 inch 10ft pipe?

Home much hose is on the output end
We've had about 80-100' at the longest and it still worked great.
Nice
Thanks
Just get a pressure pump dude Shut off automatically when you stop
Yep! That will work.
