For a random dude on RUclips that popped up on my feed. I loved this video. Thanks for being genuine and expressing your love for Sony. I currently have been enjoying my PS portal since mid-2024 and it's pretty much brought me back into single player gaming and less "competitive". FPS games. I'm becoming a true gamer again and I'm loving every moment of it. 🙏🏾
As a teacher, bro I want nothing to do with my PC after work. I have to be in the mood to turn that thing on. I'm mostly on my switch, steam deck or PS5 pro.
Dude I'm torn on the steam deck, I heard it's chill AF. that or the ROG Ally. My only issue with the ps portal is it's dependent on good internet etc. I imagine those other handhelds work offline for some games?
@@MinimalisTech Hey man! Just wanted to share a perspective from someone who's basically had every console and handheld under the sun (some returned, some sold, because... well, tech addiction is real). With the new year, I made a big decision-to trim down the number of platforms I game on. As someone who sits at a desk 8-10 hours a day as an analyst, I love PC gaming, but sometimes I need that break from the whole keyboard-and-mouse life. --> therefore, i use an xbox controller whenever i play on pc. So, my journey: Started with a base PS5 → upgraded to a PS5 Pro → realized it wasn’t adding much value for me → returned it and decided to break free from just one ecosystem. Instead, I took the full refund from the PS5 Pro and grabbed an Ally X (also have a Steam Deck) and an Xbox Series X (white digital). One thing that I feel gets slept on when talking about Xbox is the "Play Anywhere" feature-buy a game once and play it on both console and PC. Sure, the supported list isn’t endless, but it keeps expanding and will continue to do so, and it’s a game-changer for me. So yeah, I actually cut PlayStation out of my setup completely. Installed Bazzite (SteamOS) on my Ally X, and it’s been incredible-getting that Steam Deck OS experience but with the Ally X’s power. (Still kept a Windows partition for Game Pass, of course). As for the Portal… had it, hated it. My personal take. I just love the freedom of playing handhelds offline and tweaking things to get the best of both worlds. Bazzite on the Ally X? Chef’s kiss. I agree with your standpoint on this video. As a IT specialist by day, I typically want to get away from sitting behind a computer as soon as work is done. So much so, I don't even have my gaming PC anymore. My main home computer is a macbook air (M1) and my media/gaming station is a PS5.

Nice video, man. Like your setups and your reasonable take on things. I've been gaming now for almost 4 decades and this sums up how I feel. I have a PC and PS5 and my son has a Series X. I rotate from playing on a living room TV to an office setup. I pick where, when and what I play based on how I'm feeling. I'm very fortunate to be in a position in my life where I can have the flexibility to enjoy my favorite hobby how and when I choose.
I really wish rivals would add cross progression. Same as you i enjoy sitting at the desk and sitting back with a controller so it would be great to swap between the both.
Same for me ! I love my gaming pc, but I also own and enjoy a ps5 pro and series x. I also work at a desk everyday of the week, so there's nothing like sitting on the couch after a long day, grab the controller and being ready to relax. Maybe it's a millennial thing haha who knows !
Great advice. I will oftentimes fight myself over whether I want to purchase a cross platform game on ps5 or Xbox (i.e. cyberpunk, etc.) to the detriment of actually enjoying the game. At the end of the day, it’s just a game and the fun/enjoyment you get from it is all that matters.
i love this. this video is so relaxing. im also a big ps5 pro fan i love my unit so much. i prefer console gaming than pc. i dont have the time and knowledge to build and maintain one. consoles are just plug and play devices which i love!
Issue i have is that once i became accustomed to 90-120 fps at full 4k i could no longer play certain games on console. I built another pc for the living room tv, and purchased the xbox adapter for the controller. Now i have the best of both worlds. Oled monitor and tv are the chef's kiss.
Agreed, I'm a studio engineer so I sit by the computer all day. I got into PC gaming back when the 2080 was hot... I used it 5 times but I always returned to my PS4 pro or PS5 pro because of ease of use. I would also add that I strongly suggest you get the PS5 pro if you got a tv above 55". We upgraded to a 75" 2024 hdmi 2.1 tv and suddenly the PS5 looked really soft, so we upgraded. The PS5 pro, because it pushes out more games in higher fidelity looks way better on our new tv, I also prefer RGB HDR that only Hdmi 2.1 supports. Anyway, great video!
I started out with an Atari VCS in the early 1980s but later migrated to Atari 8-bit computers and then the PC in the early 1990s. Over the years, I have primarily been a PC gamer more so than a console gamer but in recent years have mostly been gaming on console. I do still have a gaming PC but have a PS5 slim and Series X in the living room hooked up to my TV, and the Series S and gaming PC hooked up to my monitor in the spare room. I enjoy each experience. I agree, console wars or console versus PC is ridiculous, just enjoy the games! That's what matters.
Great video by the way, I had a Pro for Xmas and I absolutely love it , it’s paired with an ASUS PG32UCDM and I’m absolutely blown away by this combination, still stuff that plays better on series X especially old games. I also have a PC setup with a 4090 and an Xbox series X and I play on them all and still blown away by them all. I do have an LG on my wall for casual Console gaming when I just want to relax. To those that Give it the PC V Consoles Basically why not celebrate them all they are all wonderful devices.
The graphics on the PS5 Pro using PSSR are much better than the original PS5's dynamic resolution. I find it pretty hilarious that people don’t notice the difference in resolution between PSSR and dynamic resolution in compacted RUclips videos on their small-screen iPhones and claim there is no difference.
Absolutely right, consoles are for convinience, can't sit all day on the chair Anyone who hate on consoles just don't know how tiring is to manage work and game. gaming PCs are great but not the use case for working class people
My consoles only get used for exclusives now. With paid online, lack of control over the experience, and typically more expensive games, I just can't justify using them that often. Not to mention literally every game being upscaled, with some sitting at a locked 30fps. And a $700 PS5 Pro just to play my games WORSE than my PC can? I'll just run a longer HDMI cable from my PC to my TV and launch Steam in big picture. In this economy, there is no way to convince myself to keep mainly console gaming.
I feel this. Somes I feel dumb paying for online. Especially trying to cut back cost. I have a tiny tiny 4070 system I’ve been playing with the idea of using on the tv as well. I’ll look into steam big picture mode you mentioned.
