I love working on my 02. Glad things worked out for you on the trans.

T B not so much. She went out a few weeks later. About to pull the trans this weekend and attempt to rebuild it. Video to follow.

@@stonesgarage4240 just saw the video on your channel and subscribed. I was searching for a video on how to replace oil pan on a 3rd gen because I just cross threaded my drain bolt and can't remove it. 🤦‍♂️

@@emmanuelgoncalves3462 super easy. just make sure you swap that filter while you're at it.

So what was the cause of the leak? I think you said it was the drain plug bolt since it was stripped but that seems odd, how did it become stripped?
I noticed yesterday when I was looking at something else under my 2002 that there are a couple of beads of trans fluid and leaking similar to yours. I haven't looked into it yet but it is concerning.

How many quarts of transmission fluid did you drain out and add back in?

Conner Smith I want to say it was about 4 1/2 to 5 qts but it was a lot of beers ago so I’m not positive lol.

Conner Smith no worries. I did go by the Haynes manual and maybe added a little more after a day or two.

@@stonesgarage4240 it holds around 12 liters , is it not best to change it all, when doing the filter? half the old oil from the torque converter will still be in there otherwise?
am just about to do mine was gonna change the fiter replace what ATF i get out from the drain, then take off the return hose on the cooler on the rad, drain a litre at a time, running the engine whilst emptying, till it comes out clean..
