  • Lava, lava, lava! Who doesn’t love lava? No us, that’s for sure! Today, we are making lava lamps right at home with just a few simple things right out of the kitchen! Hazel leads the way on making a great lava lamp even better? How do you make a lava lamp better? You add glitter of course! And, let’s not forget about the science! Density, liquids, gases these simple experiments are full of science fun!
    Here’s what you need:
    A jar or glass
    Water
    Vegetable oil
    Food coloring
    Alka Seltzer tablets
Glitter is optional but HIGHLY recommended
Fill the glass or jar about half way with oil, then pour in a fourth of the jar with water (you should have about a fourth of the jar empty)
Add food coloring and glitter (if you dare!). Drop in an Alka Seltzer and watch the magic happen!

    Explore! Adventure! Inspire!
Explore with us as we travel around to see the world and bring new places straight into your homes.. Come on an adventure as we battle lava, take on ghosts, and run from sharks? Oh my! And let us help inspire you to get messy while learning science and crafts. Lollybeep Ridge was created to help encourage all children to find adventure in everyday things. Play is one of the most important aspects of early childhood development and we hope we can help expand and grow imaginative play in our Lollybeep Ridge community.
