I like the innovation that they have introduced. Simple things like being able to make the steering wheel a laptop desk and a table for eating. Simple, but makes life so much easier for a driver out on the road all day.
Good looking van interior very good a lot of functions and features that was missing from the previous ones that were needed. Hope the locks and security system is much better from previous ones
Interesting to note that nothing was mentioned about improved security as this van doesn't have a good reputation in this respect. Nothing slows your work flow more than stolen tools.
I've owned my e transit going on 2 yrs and absolutely love it! I would love to slide into an all wheel drive camper style for when I retire. How much longer will we have to wait here in North America?
Having worked off the back of a hybrid F-150 for a couple of days, I can say THAT is a powertrain with real juice on the jobsite. Idk if the PowerBoost is considered too much truck for EU though.
I think Ford is doing what VW is doing with like the Golf. Technically Ford unveiled the Ranger to the World first and will do what it needs to do for US regulations before giving it to us. I can only assume the same for the Transit since the USA and the World gets the same Transit body.
The US had the Econoline/E-Series van whilst UK and Europe didn’t, when Transit went to the States it was a better upgrade than the E-Series. The only thing with the larger Transit we have is that it is only available as a high roof van whilst the Transit Custom was originally low roof now with a high roof design, the Transit in the States has a low roof option as we don’t. To be honest I don’t see why this new model Transit Custom isn’t in the States it was road tested a couple of times over there but I guess it won’t be going there any time soon.
L shaped load seems to mean that Once again missing loading 8by4 on edge ! When your carrying tools the bed is used unless we build an off stand . When will this be resolved. Will wait for the new hiace ev which hopefully will continue the old hiaces ability to carry 8 by 4 sheets on edge
I have a transit custom now. It has been in the garage for the passed 3 weeks awaiting a new timing belt to be fitted. Only Ford UK have quarantined all new timing belts. Getting any response from them has been difficult.

@@djresqvideomix they seem to be particularly easy to break into. Always had Ford vans as I really like them but they’re not secure unless you pay out for aftermarket locks, shields, central locking mods etc. Even the brand new ones have been really bad unfortunately
I purchased a brand new Tourneo Custom Ecoblue 2.0 150CV and there's no info anywhere: pictures, videos... Actually I purchased it even without seeing the artisan red colour. Besides, i've got questions about some features that appear in some videos but no one is giving me an answer (I'm talking about steering wheel, panoramic ceiling, etc). Can you shed me some light?
Try sorting out the security flaws within the van. You are aware of the vulnerabilities, sort them out. So many people have lost tools and equipment because the van is easily broken into. Fit secondary locks as standard.
You know what you missed yet again that most if not all builders will spend a couple of grand after market on if they are brave enough to buy this van? The locks. Your last generation could be defeated with either pipe pliers for the driver door or a drill for the sliding door. Ok this isn’t just a Ford problem but Ford are easy to defeat. but if you have improved it we want to know. Dead bolts high up on the rear and slide doors would be nice to so we don’t see them bent in half with the contents gone in the morning. Trust me on this this is a massive issue in the U.K. at least.
Just placed the order for this, cant get it until September at least but will be worth the wait. I'm going with all wheel drive option as I have this on my custom limited now and traction is awesome. Not sure about paying for the office steering wheel, I will have to think about that, cant remember ever needing one as I use the drop down from the centre seat for my laptop.
Best van for drivers, the most comfy and capable vehicles for work. Miles ahead of every other motor company when it comes to work vehicles. Ford has to be commended for its ability to understand the demands of the workers that use it's vehicles. The cup and bottle holders are absolute Godsends, along with the arm rests for driver's seat very comfy. Even the slippery surface on the floor of the load area made life easier. Have to try out these new models one day.
@@granat4659 do you mean the welt belt? It controls the timing between crankshaft and camshaft. It’s a common failure point but if you change it every 80k your will be fine
The 236miles range on electric I bet that's with nothing in the back ? Loaded up that will drop by 50%? the awd and 2.5 phev sounds interesting I'm glad they put new automatic box in the 6spd auto is shocking
Yet still completely useful for many uses. Not everyone drives a million miles a day. Some people drive 20 miles and then do their work. If you don't want electric, don't buy it... sheesh.
I’d like to see this in USA as a replacement for the current transit connect. It looks larger, then the current but smaller then the full size E transit.
I have a 2013 Custom from new. By making a step to the cargo area, you made it difficult for me to load and unload, OK in the passenger version, but the cargo version is stupid. For that reason, I won't buy it. Do Fords still honk when trying to close an unlocked door? Some sadist must have thought it up.
4 year lease on these back in 2013 when they came out in the uk ( I had a 63 plate) was about £250 vat inclusive with 6 months down in front. They're way too expensive now.
A great looking van. Might be the best van in its class. Too bad here in the government in the Netherlands is a little too greedy on the tax when you buy it. Base price is 31k but government slaps almost 20k on top of it making it 50k. For the base model. Nothing Ford can do about this. Very interested in seeing the all electric price which is not known at this point. That one will be taxed a lot less but will be more pricey because batteries are costly.
I know it's crazy Just build a basic hard wearing tough van like you did 20odd years ago , There's no need for gimmicks for builders & delivery drivers
safety, in an accident everything in the back becomes a missile flying forwards... but you can remove the bulkhead, or even have it removed factory option.
Decent looking van. Only thing that really lets it down for me is the awful looking square steering wheel. Granted I've never used one, it could quite literally be reinventing the wheel, but I just can't see it being useful or all that comfortable to use around town.

As a mechanic I hope you have replaced the wet belt with a chain...I guess not. in which case short engines should be drastically reduced in price and the vacuum pump for the brake servo should be a giveaway item. I hope the wiring loom issues of the previous model have been fixed water ingress caused so many problems and cost a fortune to fix. Ad blu..Has the fifth injector and glow plug been moved to a more accessible position for easy and frequent replacement , two hours to try and remove a seized and inaccessible one is soul destroying. Finally Electric Parking Brakes..when the whirring stops or won't please make them cheap to buy , judging how they seize and rust up they are cheap anyway. Old fashioned cables worked just fine and at a tenner a side if needed... I have just been reminded about the LED headlights. We have just had a written off car, 6 years old low mileage light front end, no airbag deployment. front bumper cracked inter cooler, radiator and. two broken LED head lights.. how can two headlights come to more than £1400 ??? ballasts ? 7 inch round things used to cast a tenner ...fitted. Buy a Toyota van , they are ugly. we replace drop links, tyres brakes and change the oil etc. several we service have been to the moon and back , perhaps Ford should buy one to get the basics right ?
Hopefully that transmission is better than the 10 speed in the regular full size transits. NOTHING but problems from day one and they know transmission has a huge flaw and does NOTHING about it. My truck has been back to dealership 6 times in 2 years and nothing ever gets fixed. It would be back more but I need it for work to pay bills. So disappointed Nissan discontinued their NV line.
This platform will be used by Volkswagen for the next Transporter. I wonder how each company will price their new offerings. I wouldn’t be surprised if the VW California reaches six figures.
I'm not too happy about the electric brake but everything else is on point just take out the electric brake because it needs to be an emergency brake just in case you need to press it.

You'll also need to be very light footed, not have the radio and aircon on and hope it's not too cold outside!
