This pattern is called Tunisian entrelac. It is the rectangular version. Usually you do a square in the round with a different color for each round. The rectangular version allows you to make a throw or a size for a bed. A 4 worsted weight yarn will make bigger squares and larger blanket. I made one with my left over yarn with grey, cream pink purple green and then red which made the colors pop. Just made sure red & green were not next each other so not christmassy. So fun to do

Finishing off most times is almost always the same. Chain one and cut thread leaving about a three inch tail pull thread so you tighten up the knot. And all you have to do now is weave tail into same color. To make neat and your done

@@janecoombs5762 I haven't tried it yest, but I'm sure it depends upon the size of the squares you decide to do, then make doubles of it depending on the size of what you are making.
From my viewing of the clip, each square needs 11 chains. I expect that we should do the chains with a number of multiples of 11 and increase one chain for the beginning. I hope my comment will be useful to you.😊🤍
