  • In this Optistruct tutorial, we will perform a transient dynamic analysis using Hypermesh. The free vibration of a 2D plate under the action structural damping will be observed during postprocessing.

      I want to know, why do you apply mass as DAREA load is applied?

    excellent, thx! Can you please post some example on self-heating effcet (thermal analysis) of cfrp composite under the cycle loading? What kind of load step should be used?

    Another solid gold video. Can you please elaborate on why the DAREA constraint was used?

      Thanks Allon!
      DAREA is specifically used for transient load application. As this analysis is completely dependent on transient loads, we have to use DAREA.
      If needed, SPCD type of constraints can also be used instead of DAREA to get similar results!

    Can you please explain why you selected all 6 DOF's for both the dependent and independent RBE3 element nodes? I don't fully understand the relationship between the DOF's of the dependent and independent nodes.
    Thanks.

    Which software do you recommend for generating the geometry?

      Thanks! Personally, I use Solidworks but there is a plethora of good CAD tools out there. I guess the choice depends completely on individual preference.

    Hello, I am a bit confused, I would like to learn pre-processing, so do these videos give instruction on pre-processing or solver?

    Great video! But how do you apply the thickness if the component has different thicknesses? I have seen you apply always the same thickness to one single component (which is also real!) but if the part has different thicknesses? Looking forward to your answer! Thanks and keep them coming!

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  2 года назад +1

      In case of multiple thicknesses, the geometry can be split into different components connected to each other. Then each component can be assigned a separate thickness as well as material.
