Nick is like a brain surgeon as he sorts and extracts all the debris from the basement in such confined areas.
No doubt he’s like a surgeon, with such great hand, brain, dexterity. I have to think twice and have a moment of silence sometimes before even remembering which way is which when tightening, and removing something. It’s ridiculous.😂
Its nice to be nice, but in a more honest way.. I dont think I want nick doing my brain (whats left of it) surgery 😮
The level of commitment required to complete this job is hard to imagine.
It is a ten year commitment at this pace.
They are incredibly amazing group of fine manly men getting the project done.
Since the place has stood like this for 20 years I imagine no one will drop the millions to have it done by a company. So years and years of youtube views and Patreon money for a smaller operation seems to be the way to go. It's going to take ages for sure but I'm enjoying watching it every step of the way :)
Apparently the Chateau fire was in 1986. I think you are correct in saying it's going to take a long time but hopefully RUclips and Patron earnings will increase and Dan can get more help from different trades along the way. He'll probably work alongside them, learning more tips and tricks.
Whatever happens I'm loving it!!.

It's a grand palace, Dan! I needed your video extra today. Dental surgery went a little sideways this morning. So it's very cheering to see all the progress you've made. The roof will be going on before we know it.
OWOWOW! So sorry you are in pain. Even the words ‘dental surgery’ gives me ptsd. Last time for me, were 5 people in the room, not counting me: dentist, 2 assistants, one holding my hand and one holding me down! I feel your pain! But an episode with Dan surely helps 👍

This community on here is so caring. ❤ It went totally sideways and ended up having sinus surgery and almost ended up in hospital because my bp was all over the place. Dan-do you think you will be putting in an elevator at some future point? Just wondering out loud….keep up the good work.
Question is where would you put it? And how would you access it? None of the floors are level with the outside, so you'd need a ramp to get in there in the first place. A ramp down into the basement would be a lot easier than one up to the ground floor.
That leaves the question where to put the lift. The entrance hall doesn't really have space for one so it would have to be one of the rooms, which is a bit of a pity. If you wanted it to go up to the third floor the back rooms would be the only possible location that I could see. Maybe use one of the two doors leading from the hallway into these rooms on each floor.

The best episode is 18, where Dan was working on the farmhouse and a worker told him of the "ruined chateau... He went to see it with his family. The look on his face as he saw the chateau for (I think) the first time...

It’s come a long way Dan. I have to say when you first arrived I was somewhat sceptical but you all have done a bang on job so far. There’s been some entertainment along the way but even with that it’s moved on like clockwork mostly so far. This is a pleasure to watch for this retired boilermaker. That’s for sure. When I look at what has already been renovated at the château, I think it's great. Finally the camera turns in a different direction and then I'm shocked at what still needs to be done.

Unbelievable how you keep on going. You are like the chateau superman. The first months I shook my head so much, buckets on ropes, old wheelbarrow with leaky tires, simple ladders & scaffolding wiggling all the time. I would watch in terror you would fall down. But here you are still and your You Tube numbers are doing awesome. You are one awesome hardworking positive guy!!!

I've never enjoyed or been so excited about watching beams go in. I don't even understand why really. I think initially I looked at this overgrown ruin of crumbling masonry and rusting steel beams and wondered how the heck you were going to do it with a van and a whipper snipper but now, every step is a joy you share with us.
It's all a very big deal and you're a big deal, Dan the Man! Nick is awesome too. I love how he 'just does it' and if he is explaining something, he isn't at all patronising, he's so interesting. What a day, what a day! It's amazing watching Nick maneuver the digger in such narrow spaces with such skill. He's a true maestro. It's also amazing how close you are to having the whole Chateau cleared of debris. That in and of itself is a massive accomplishment. Demolition, clean up, Yurt, puppies, eye candy, noggins, new floors, the list is endless. I’ve enjoyed it all. I’ve watched them all. Plus all the Dan the gardener,chef and great dad videos. Amazing milestone to have the ashes removed in all 4 wings. I'm sure there will be more debris created from the upper floors but now one can say the chateau has risen from the ashes, has been reborn and its regrowth more than started ... to become a grand structure that it should be.
I think the biggest load will be the last remaining concrete basement ceiling in the entrance hall. And that's going to end up in the basement. It's just the crumbly concrete though, not a waist-high layer of debris and compost.
