Thanks for the video! I was having a hard time trying to figure out where those pieces went. This is my first miter saw. I've used one in class but I didn't have to put any parts together.
*Remember that this saw needs to have adjustments made to make 0 or 90 cuts accurately **MyBest.Tools** I had to use a right angle on the deck and blade and then adjust the bolt to get the correct reading. Once this is done, it works great.*
Dewalt is considered by many carpenters to be the king of jobsite miter saws. Still not sure why they haven't made this saw and/or a sliding version for their Flexvolt line. Most of the competition has a cordless 10 inch slider at this point.
Page 4 of instruction manual says to 'Never use the miter lock knob for any cutting operation.' page 7, under Crosscuts, says to, after selecting the desired miter angle, tighten the miter lock knob. I'm not sure what to do.
i went thru eight of those saws to find one that was flat. put a straight edge on it and notice if there is a lip on the turn table vs the side tables. if the stock doesn’t lie flat it will not get cut at 90 degrees or what ever angle you set it on.
The S is the newer version of the saw. It used to be DW713 but this is the newest model which is the DWS713. The DW713 is now discontinued. Not sure exactly what the "S" is for but it is just the newest version of that particular Dewalt saw.
@@texasbtc I would imagine S stands for Single Bevel, versus the other model which is double bevel. The video did not demonstrate the bevel cutting action.
S is for sport. this new S model goes faster than the last model. i hear the next model will be DWSS for super sport can’t wait to test drive that one. i went thru eight of those saws to find one that was flat. put a straight edge on it and notice if there is a lip on the turn table vs the side tables. if the stock doesn’t lie flat it will not get cut at 90 degrees or what ever angle you set it on. maybe the S actually stands for “straight” DeWalt should be embarrassed to not have built a saw that wasn’t perfectly flat.
Finally a review with good music, thank you.
Great video! Concise and exactly what I expected, without any fluff. Thanks!
Thanks for this video! For those who know how to use this tool it may seem simple for the newbie like me it was very helpful. 👍🏽

Is this saw made in the US?
no
What does the S stand for in the model number ? Mine didn't come with a clamp.
