4:12. 8/12/24. I just made this. ALL ANGLE CUTS ARE 45 DEGREES. I made each piece 9 inches long. Equates to a diameter of 19 inches. Pretty big. Maybe start with a smaller piece. ( 7 inch?). I used inch and one half screws. I attached each "layer" with glue (Titebond Ultimate) and secured with 2 and one half pneumatic 16 gage nails. I ripped the wood to 1.5 by 1.75. My concern was having sufficient nail length (2.5 inches) to secure each layer. My thought, the nail penetration into the lower layer of 0.75 inches would be sufficient to hold layers together till the glue dries.

what angle did you use to make your octagon pots

In 2011 an old friend burned to death because he was wearing flammable clothing while using an angle grinder. I trained metal fabrication (boilermaker/welder) apprentices for several years and always made sure they had the correct PPE. This guy doesn't!

why are these sorts of channels always so insistent on plugging screw recesses? you have to be able to tighten the screws on occasion on any real furniture, they come loose as the wood expands and contracts with changes in the weather. plugs are a useful thing for hiding defects, but all you're doing here is making it impossible to maintain

Great Idea

Een boor slijp je NOOIT op de zijkant van de steen, maar altijd op de kop. Zijwaartse druk uitoefenen op een slijpsteen kan levensgevaarlijk zijn. Maar los daarvan maak je nog een grote fout bij het slijpvlak dat je maakt. Ik weet niet juist hoe men dat juist noemt of ik het benoemen moet, maar het slijpvlak moet naar achter afhellen (de achterhellingshoek?) en dat is heel belangrijk voor een goed snijdende boor. Zoek eerst eens op een betrouwbare site of bij een echte kenner uit hoe je een boor perfect moet slijpen want je ziet blijkbaar toch iets over het hoofd. In ieder geval één ding staat vast, jij zal NOOIT een boor van of voor me mogen slijpen. Wanneer een boor goed geslepen is maakt ze mooie krullende spanen, geen zo’n kleine splinters als bij jou.

When I was a little kid, my dad welded an eyebolt to the back of my tricycle and took an old wagon took the front wheels off and made a trailer hitch. Then he made stock racks. I would put the dog in it and that was my stock trailer. I havent thought about it in years. Thank you for sharing this build and bringing me a precious memory.
