What a class act he is, and as for her...... holy sh*t!!!! what a player. Probably one of the best finals you could want or get, 2 good players at the top of their game and none of this tantrum throwing crap you get from others. One of the only times I've seen 2 winners at the same time, him for his performance, and her for her performance too
He's better all around. But she seems to make a bit more nuanced/better adjustments while playing. It seems like you can see her adjusting after bad throws.
Studies have shown that on average Men have higher hand eye coordination and better spatial awareness than women. The reason women on average don't do as good as men at darts (and nearly all other sports) may have something to do with this
@@alzym1803 Hmmm, but this would be bias, as men do on average more sport and physical jobs, so they have honed their hand-eye more than women on average. But I think it would be hard to establish this as male-female difference, got a link to a study? The fact that a woman can get to this level of darts possiblyy shows it's not noticeably different. I think men typically get to high levels of darts, esports etc, because they are more inclined to obsess over things. (and in the case of both, more men play)
@@Totaro17 I think what he is saying is that it would be difficult to frame a study because the old saying of throwing like a girl isn't really because girls are incapable of throwing, its because boys grow up doing activities where they throw regularly, so the traits are learned and developed. To adequately build a study around that type of coordination or gross motor skills in general, you would need a test population that didn't grow up in that slanted background. i.e. you cant test a boy that played baseball against a girl that did ballet in a throwing contest because one of them has been training for that specific thing, just like you couldn't judge them comparably in a pirouette contest. You could test that way to determine what the average skill of a population is, but not their capacity.
I love both of these players! That said, the first half of the match was SO exciting seeing Fallon beating the Great MVG at will! BTW, does anyone else think that Fallon appears as though she might be ... with child? Would really love to see her at 7 or 8 months throwing in tourneys!

@@greenblue6935 Does he? I guess so. But I can assure you he's really Dutch. I've even heard him speaking Dutch... Well, in the dialect that is common in the South of the Netherlands that is.

Too much emphasis in the commentary on the "female player" as opposed to the quality of darts thrown by both players. Also when did a score of 90+ become a stat?
Two things had to happen to get here, hope Price get's his arm fixed and Van Den Bergh had to lose. (I have a hard time believing that VDB lost, he's better than that) Would MVG have won if either of those two showed up? MVG having a family was likely the best thing for darts!
Hmm did u see Fallon beat her 5 to 0 to get into the grand slam of darts .. Fallon is the future of not just woman's darts but as a real contender in men's darts!
So much hype around Fallon Sherrock. Her achievements really aren't that extraordinary but are being made to appear so simply because not enough women play darts. Darts is not a sport that involves any physicality at all meaning that women should not be at any disadvantage competing against men. The one and only reason why it is only generally men that reach pro level is because not enough women play darts as it is a sport generally associated with men. Exactly the same with snooker.
Partly correct and agree more women should appear in these tourneys but that does not mean Fallon did not do anthing special at all. She played extraordinarily and we all know that is not easy at all. MVG my all time favourite player but honestly rooted for Fallon this time.
@@erikstigter7897 yes, there is the Women's Series which was established last year. But the aim of these "tour" is to encourage women's darts and give female players the opportunity to play in a PDC like enviroment. @@Steve99St So what's the darts league that has had a ladies tour for ages? Is that the BDO, cause I am certain I have seen women's competition much further back than last year... @@erikstigter7897 yes, that's the BDO you mean. However I encourage the idea of the PDC to have womens tournaments because it gives them the opportunity to compete with the top guys by earning spots at the Grand Slam or the Worlds. The PDC wants to make womens darts better. You can only achive that by giving them the chance to play with the best on the biggest stages. And it works! Take Fallon Sherrok for example. She was competing in major events throughout the last 2 years, beating the Nr. 5 in the world and getting to a World Series final along the way. Because of the experience she gets with this she has a massive advantage over other female players atm. It's basically the same concept as having seperate Development Tour tournamemts, Q School etc for non UK players. Of course they have some kind of advantage over UK players that way but that's also the reason why so many young talent from Germany, Netherlands or Austria is coming through at the moment. PDC gives them the platform and the opportunities. The development follows automatically. Fair enough in my opinion.
